Smuttynose has some great limited edition beers they do throughout the year. Their Baltic Porter is just amazing.

I am drinking Killian's Irish red in hopes that beer will help me sleep (cf. Insomnia thread). So far it's not working.

OMG, you guys. Sam Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout is like drinking chocolate cake. Which is an interesting experience. It's tasty, but per my calorie restrictions I can only have one beer tonight, and I was hoping for something with some beer flavor to it. This has none. Slightly bubbly chocolate cake, I swear. Too rich to drink more than a couple of times a year. Definitely an experience, though.

Yeah, the Sam Smith 'flavored' beers are ridiculously good. Don't even bother to try the Cherry or Raspberry.

    TRY THE CHERRY AND RASPBERRY

One of these days I'll make a half-and-half of the chocolate and the raspberry and then WORLDS WILL COLLIDE.

I just tried my first Belgian - - Corsendonk Christmas Ale. OMFG. I had heard Belgians were very different. If they're all like this... Oh yum.

I am sad to report that I keep referring to it as Badonkadonk Christmas Ale, because I am secretly 12.

And now I'm stuck with Killian's until Monday. Sad.

Got my first bottle of Deschutes' THE ABYSS. So much flavor! I'll report my findings when I've finished it.

I got some more Sam Smith oatmeal stout and Smuttynose Old Brown Dog ale this afternoon. I wanted more Badonkadonk Christmas Ale, but it's like $5.39 for 12oz. It's really good, but not good enough to justify the cost. I may treat myself to a bottle for Xmas, though.

You really are working your way through all of my favorite beers. I love Corsendonk, though my favorite of theirs is the Abbey Brown Ale.

I'm having Pyramid Oatmeal Stout this week. It's good, like all of Pyramid's offerings. Not, like, Sam Smith's-level good, but good.

I'll put it on my list of things to try. Hopefully it's a little less pricey than the seasonals?

Sam Smith is the only non-American beer I like.

I dunno why they're the only beer from Europe worth drinking, but I feel like I ought to hump the bottle a little I love it so much.

Fuck, Westy 12 is dropping in the states and I WANT A BRICK OF IT.

Is ANYONE on the forums near any of these locations? If you can secure me a box of Westy, I would owe you immensely.

Finally sourced a Yakima Scarlet, brewed by local guy Joseph Wood and the Liberty Brewing company (Yakima hops being all the way from Washington State, it seems). Very nice drop, very red and not to be served too cold. Definitely going back for more, but only after I've had a bottle of his Yakima Monster. Jo plays it pretty loose, it seems you'll never know what you'll get with his beer :)

Good god, a few places in Minnesota. I'll see what I can do and maybe we can split a brick Ryan if I can get out to get one or find a place where they aren't already all reserved!

I'm going to Bruges next week. I am going to drink so much beer, in so many places. Like here:

All that money that they didn't spend on web design they spent on having ONE BAZILLION DIFFERENT BEERS. Oh it's good.

Guaranteed to be more palatable than their music. I actually didn't even realize the connection until after I'd purchased it. I just bought it because Flying Monkey beer rules.

They have some other great looking things on offering for their Beer Geek Christmas in the morning as well!

So yea. Standing outside a liquor store at 7 am. Crazy? Quite possibly. Now to hope I manage to get one of the packs. Already a line when I got here.

That's more per bottle than I paid to have mine hand carries from Belgium!

Good luck getting it, it's an amazing beer that every beer geek should enjoy.

None in my local liquor stores. I think Manhattan stores took the state's entire allotment. :(
  36. nixon66 Armchair Designer

Success. Sadly while getting the Westy 12 I missed out on some Goose Island and Founders Bourbon Barrel items they had squirreled away all over the store, but still happy in the end. Go beer.

Sweet! Were you able to get more than 1 brick?
  40. nixon66 Armchair Designer

One per customer. It was nice in that they split up some of the brick so people who missed a brick could still get a single bottle at least.
