That looks like a good time, and something my kids would also really enjoy. Feel free to spam us again on Feb 7 so we can all steal your time and effort for nothing.
That looks fantastic! How much is it going to be when it's full price? I might wait 73 hours before I pick it up, since I sort of know one of the devs. Kind of.
Daylight robbery! At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask! (I kid, €1.49 is a steal for a universal app)
Paradox is finally putting its hat into the iOS ring: http://pockettactics.com/2013/01/31...aradoxs-naval-action-game-leviathan-warships/ This looks pretty cool, no?
As requested I'm back to remind you that Stick to It! is live on the App Store and free for the next three days. Initial response has been pretty positive! We're hoping to see some reviews go up today now that the embargo has ended.
I just got time to play this, and it's really adorable. Cute mechanic, too. Good luck with it -- it's a neat game.
Newb iPad Owner Tip: If you have a girlfriend or wife, and only one iPad in the household, do not teach her how to play Ascension...unless you're fine with not having access to your iPad for an extended period of time (like until the battery's dead).
I am late to the party with this one, but I started playing the roguelike 100 Rogues and am really digging it. My one real gripe is that you only start with 4 classes, and all the other classes are $1 unlocks (on top of a $3 purchase). But I am a sucker and will likely get them, since I already bought the dinosaur man class because its a GODDAMNED DINOSAUR MAN. So you win this round, game.
The roguelike Cardinal Quest just went free for Valentines. Magic Orbz, a brick breaker from the Playstation Network apparently, is $.99 at the moment, as well.
So this is a bit early since all it has is a single image but... Breach & Clear got announced. Looks like some sort of tactical game for iOS & Android, by a former Call of Duty guy who left to create his own studio. It has me curious.
Covered in the Mobile Board Games thread. But no, not yet. And even when it does it's probably gonna be poop. I've got the fake Dominion that was released a while ago and I'll be keeping that, even though it's only the base version so it's dull as shit.
It's one of Owen's running gags that we here in New Zealand get all of the iOS releases first and OMG AREN'T WE SO LUCKY, but today it's backfired with the release of EA's latest polished turd, Real Racing 3. Oh sure, it's beautiful to look at, controls well and even if they did steal straight from the Forza Horizon soundtrack, the sound is great. But the "freemium" side of the game is where it all goes to shit. You're presented with the opportunity to spend your precious credits from YOUR VERY FIRST PURCHASE of a car, with the choice to spend an EA buck (whatever-the-fuck-it's-called, a "Jeff Green Dollar?") so that you get immediate delivery of your new car (which you've just spent 33000 "dollars" on). And it's downhill from there. Damage (the AI is aggressive), maintenance (oil changes become compulsory) and upgrades (your starter car is shit) all cost, and all come with a waiting period unless you spend EA Bucks. Wankers.
According to this article, wait times as long as six hours after very short play sessions. Surely this is not a sustainable development model? http://www.droidgamers.com/index.ph...based-freemium-system-in-real-racing-3-stinks
That is absolutely fucking putrid and vile. And judging by the success of other waitware titles like Pixel People, Pocket Planes, et al, it might just work! Huzzah!
I think it's a smart move. I sure as shit wasn't going to spend $10 on an iOS racing game, but I'll try it for free.
Well I sure as shit wouldn't either, but that's why I put Real Racing 2 in AppShopper and waited for it to tell me when it was $.99.
iCade is $39 right now, if you've been holding off on one. With Gridlee bringing MAME to the iPad again, this is a no-brainer. http://www.amazon.com/Ion-iCade-Arc...?ie=UTF8&qid=1360903541&sr=8-2&keywords=icade I have like 2 folders full of non-emulation apps that use it, too. So there's no lack of support for the thing. However, that some games like Street Fighter X Tekken don't use it blows my mind.
I was charged twice for the same app. Does anyone have experience in contacting Apple to have one of the charges reversed?
I've had good luck using whatever the main "Contact us" email address is for the store at http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/.
Yeah, they usually respond within a day and the one time I got double charged they had a refund for me pretty quick.
So I dunno if this got talked about here, but I just bought, played, and finished The Room. It's pretty damn cool as a toy, and even if it's on the expensive side on the surface (2 bucks for like 90 minutes of game) I feel like I more than got my money's worth. I hope the promised sequel build on what they accomplished here, rather than just extend it.
Even if the sequel is just 90 more minutes of the same thing I will still totally buy it, play it, and love it.
I like how whenever I fire up Battle of the Bulge now, they promise me I can take part of a tournament and win $500, and then require that I have a working account on a forum, where I'm banned from...
What did you do to get banned from the Battlefront forum? Have political opinions to the left of Hitler?
The only tournament I've seen leads to a page on QT3. But yeah, I would consider myself slightly to the left of Hitler.
I'm nearly done with the iOS game I posted about a while back, and I could use some feedback. If a few of you could try it out before release, I'd really appreciate it. Here's the website I put together: http://plasma-sky.com And here's a picture: If you have time to check it out, just follow this link and make a TestFlight account. The signup is painless and it makes getting builds much easier. http://tflig.ht/RsWI54 Thanks!
The picture is working fine for me. Also someone recommend a nice RPG with turn-based combat that isn't a hundred hours long. Thank you.
Huh, thanks for the heads up, I'll try to replicate that. I don't have any hotlink protection on so I'm not sure why it wouldn't work for you.
