    Yes!

(Assume I said something interesting here, since I feel weird about one-word responses in a forum that already has a 'Like' system, but I'm not sure just liking the original post would be sufficiently clear as a positive answer to the question asked.)

All of Nebty's and Sjofn's remarks on that particular game have made me seethe with greedy curiousity and so I too would quite happily follow along un if only because I can't have it myself and aaaaahhhhhh it sounds so interesting. Oh and not being too fair since I'm sure I've read more from others but these two are the ones whose words I remember most ish.

Oh and in the end I had to resort to playing Orsinal games and am reasonably chipper'n so there's that.

I am said friend, and would like to thank you guys for the support! I'll start it as soon as Origin stops being a nasty bitch and I can post topics. Which might take a while. Oh well.
  4. Bladida Magister Mundi Elyscape

As far as I know, it takes a week before you can make a thread. And are you planning to play as FemShep? Because that would be pretty awesome.
  5. fadeaccompli Magister Mundi Elyscape

...some people play as DudeShep? Huh. I keep forgetting that.
  6. Narbeef Fresh Meat

    Female Shepard romancing Garrus, yeah.

The only thing holding me back is Origin launching and staying in offline mode when it shouldn't, and I need to be online for Javik and Leviathan (don't have Omega yet). My old saves don't work while in offline mode, either.

Yep, first I had to find the tvtropes page about it and then it was linked from there. Let's be honest: I'm not in a hurry to read every post in a thread that F.A.T.A.L. comes up in.

Ignoring all the posts about the game that shall not be named to add my name to the list of people that would like an Etrian Odyssey LP.

Another I'd love to see if I'm allowed to wish for anything at all is any Oddworld game. I know platformers don't lend themselves to image based LPs in the slightest, but if someone LP'ed Abe's Oddysee I'd stalk that thread religiously.

*recoils at the mention of That Name*

I am told that Kaidan's romance path with DudeShep in ME3 is a lot less creepy than his romance moves on FemShep in ME. And that's good to hear, because I think he'd have to actively drill a peephole in the wall of her quarters to have come across as any more icky in ME than he already did.

...I didn't find Kaidan creepy at all.

He's a nice, polite guy who's overly conscious of maintaining self-control, cautious about overstepping his boundaries because Shep's his commanding officer and all, and like most of the male love interests in BioWare RPGs up to that point, he takes it as given that Shepard can kick the ass of anything that comes her way but expresses concern over her emotional well-being because of how everyone in the known universe depends on her to clean up their problems.

Also Shepard can toss him over her shoulder and save his ass on like three different occasions, it's great.

Sneak King on my top ten games list of all time. I can do a let's play, but you REALLY need to want it.

I didn't find him particularly icky in ME (like ... man, I can think of so many more love interests in BioWare games that I would call creepier for sure), but even so, I don't super like that romance for a lady Shepard. But in ME3, with a DudeShep? It is adorable. It has a slow-burn payoff that I really like, and it's just two friends finally admitting they have the hots for each other. To be fair, my DudeShep, until ME3, was the Only Gay Man in Space and I always sort of amused myself by reading too much into everything Kaidan said to him (LOSING YOU WAS LIKE LOSING A LIMB), so part of the "slow-burn payoff" was happening in my head rather than on-screen. :P

EDIT: And yes, I love all the times I can fling him over my LadyShepard's shoulder and save his ass. I love it. Best part about being his girlfriend for sure. :P

I like Kaidan with Manshep infinitely more than I like him with Femshep. I didn't find him creepy at all in ME1, just sort of dull. Then again, I've only ever had eyes for Garrus.
  18. Sjofn Magister Mundi Elyscape

    Location:

Yeah, I get the "dull" complaint for Kaidan. He's a human in a sci-fi game AND they had him sound exactly like Carth, so he's got an uphill battle right out of the gate, plus they elected to make him fairly mellow to boot (Jacob has the same issue, really. Jacob is even more aggressively normal, which means he is the "boring" love interest in ME2.). But creepy? Eh. I mean, I haven't played ME1 in ages, but usually someone being creepy sticks with me, and I have no such memory with Kaidan. Some of his backstory is "dude what" but the fact he's already done the emotional lifting of dealing with it before meeting your Shepard made it less ... wtf for me.

Now Thane! Thane, I can definitely see why people think Thane is a bit creepy. ;) And Jack's is kinda creepy to me. Fucking Corso Riggs in SWTOR is the king of creepy. But hell, even my True Love, Zevran, is creepier than Kaidan. :P

The only creepy thing I can think of is the weird choice they made with the MOOD LIGHTING in the conversations with the 3 LIs in ME1. Kaidan's is probably the weirdest of those.

  25. fadeaccompli Magister Mundi Elyscape

Briefly: I interacted with him in a friendly manner on a few occasions in ME1, carefully not choosing any dialogue options that could be construed as romance, because I was playing a Shepard who knew better than to date her own subordinates. (It's unethical!) He then cornered me for a conversation in which he demanded to know if I was actually romancing him, and when I said no, whined for ages about how he thought we had a CONNECTION and that I shouldn't have been leading him on and why didn't I loooooove him and how could I toy with him like that? It was like a sudden manifestation of Nice Guy, complete with sulking over the fact that a woman interacting with him in a non-hostile manner didn't actually mean she wanted him in her pants.

Buuuuuut wandering back away from Mass Effect discussion, that reminds me that I'd love to see someone LP Final Fantasy X-2, if only so that I can figure out if I actually want to try it or not. I keep hearing that it's Horrible, but in a really vague sort of "Ew, girls! Being girly!" way that obscures the presumably real flaws of the gameplay.

There should be a stickie mentioning this in the LP forum, because it seems like so many people have asked.
  30. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

That would do it, yes. Reminds me of the Dogged Nice Guy trope that I thoroughly hate. And Entitled To Have You which is considerably worse.

As for FFX-2: Watch Spoony's review. It all makes sense.

  31. Joie de Combat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Yeah, needless to say, I... did not have that experience with Kaidan, even when I didn't romance him. Not sure what made the difference there.

I'm not the person to ask for a review of the actual gameplay experience, but I can say that for all the silly girly stuff that it throws out in the early parts of the plot - and admittedly there is a good bit of silly girly stuff - the storyline gets considerably more serious and emotionally moving than I'd ever heard it given credit for before I played it myself. So there is that, at least, for whatever my subjective opinion is worth.
  32. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

This is a legitimate game. I am having trouble believing that but my vote goes to yes, please do anyway.

On the topic of "would there be an interest": Would there be an interest in a let's play of Fate/stay night?

I'm planning to play through it at some point anyway, so...
  36. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

As long as the worms are under a spoiler tag if they get mentioned at all, I am interested.
  37. Joie de Combat Already Beat BF's New Expansion

I am not yet sure if I would go as far as LPing all three routes. The one featuring the worms is the last one. I'll probably be putting all updates under spoiler cuts with summary text the way I'm doing with my Jade Empire LP because the images will be pretty large, but in any case if I were to LP all three routes I'd make sure to warn for any particularly horrifying content.

Origin is working again, so I'd like to ask if there's any preference to one of these.
