I think I'll go with a combination of these suggestions. I'll claim two pairings for myself as a sort of quality guarantee
for the game mechanics. Then I'll make up pairing lists for the remaining bachelorettes. THEN I'll let the left over bachelors be paired through majority suggestions (which being forever alone is a completely valid option).

I'm going to ask for further pairings/FE4 (not pertaining to if you'd like to see a Let's Play of it) discussion to take place over here: Fire Emblem thread just so we don't derail this thread too much.

EDIT: Just went ahead and deleted the offending posts! :D

Oh dude, I just thought of a really meta game that might be worth abusing in an LP. I never go tvery far through it so I don't know how good it is, but an LP of the DS game Contact might be fun for audience participation.
  5. Aahh, the soundtrack's by Masafumi Takada! I loved his work in DR, so I might give this a try at some point.

I was creeping all over the awesome JRPG threads and it made me think things. I don't know if anyone's already done a Disgaia LP or anything, but Phantom Brave might be another enjoyable one, especially for Pokemon-style training users as phantoms. Pretty decent game for anyone who likes Disgaia but would like to try going deeper into the developer's titles.

I second this notion. Contact was an awesome game.

Also: One game that I'd be interested in seeing is When I Rule the World. Its a small freeware game that I'd try to LP myself but I have no time...

I'm thinking of doing the Ys Series (Well, that which is available on PC, anyway), starting with Ys I & II Chronicles+ when it releases next week on Valentine's Day.

Would people be interested? It'll be a semi-blind LP - I've never played I&II before, but I've played the games surrounding it and I know a lot of the lore, especially having played the prequel. I suspect the format will be similar to that of the Dark Souls LP currently going on, with maybe the odd video section (Thinking of boss fights, but I'm not sure how they are in Ys I & II).

One of the main draws of the series is their consistently bitchin' rad soundtracks, so I'll probably have youtube links to area bgm up in the LP as well.

(I guess sorta like the way the DanganRonpa LP was set up on SA)

I kinda wanna see LP's of the main Final Fantasy series..although those games are sooo long so I see why no one would want to do them.I have ffviii and ffix but idk if I could LP those properly myself..
  11. Randissimo Hatoful Pigeon

Guys. Just start the LP. There will always be interest. So long as you don't post anything that breaks the rules, you're fine, and believe me, there will be an audience.

That said, my answer is a resounding YES.
  12. Ravenholme Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Well, I can't start until next week. I was debating doing Ys Origins first, seeing as that is how I will have played it, but the games are really meant to be experienced by playing Ys I & II first, so that's how I'll LP it (Though I've had long-term series fans envying the different perspective I'll have going into I&II)

As a fan of the Ys series, I approve of this! u___u But maybe you could consider of LP Ys Origin that is more of a prequel and could appeal more people that never heard about this game series?
  14. Ravenholme Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Well, Ys Origins has the whole "unreliable narrators" thing going on, even on the "True Route", and a lot of it is best viewed via the lens of knowing about the events of I&II.

Do you mean the PS ones (so 7 and upwards)? because 6 is okay short. 30 or 40hrs maybe. and if you skip all the rage, it's not too bad? (okay, still long for a game, but it doesn't need every screen showed) I haven't completed any of the ones before that, but they aren't as long.

It'd be really fun to see ffx LP but man, that game is long. My playthrough was 100hrs. (okay, I grinded in Omega and spend probably 20hrs playing blitzball and lots of other things. still.)

You know, I personally think that jrpg are not the best LP material because as you already said, they usually are very long, so it's very easy for the LPer to lose interest and the LP die. I don't want to jinx that for those who are currently LPing a jrpg of course, but it's always sad when you're following a LP and it is suddendly abandoned. I also thought about LPing FF VI, but even if it is shorter than other games of the FF series, it would still take months to complete it, and it's a big "commitment".
  18. Ravenholme Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Yeah, the main reason I'm doing the Ys series over other LPs is that a lot of the content I don't really need to tell you guys about. Mostly the grinding through areas to get XP, gold, etc. Otherwise, the games themselves are pretty fun and not terribly long.

(Trying to convince Candied Citrus to do the first Geneforge game, too <_< No luck so far, tho)

I had been LPing FFVII but then [REDACTED] happened and then I recently started playing Dragon Age Origins so.../shrug.
I was getting a little bored with it, so if I decide to pick it up again it'll probably be goofy. I seem to get bored unless I'm being goofy.
That said, if someone else really wants to do it then you have my blessing./Godfather voice

  27. Alko Boom Already Beat BF's New Expansion

I agree on the JRPG. I'm LPing Persona 4 knowing how long and how much content to show. Even though I love the game, its length may cause the LP to die. I'm not saying it will, but I make no promises. I think one of the things to do is summarize some details and cut out unimportant stuff, like if it doesn't affect the plot and is optional, mention it and move on.
James Birdsong and Randissimo like this.
  28. Ravenholme Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Definitely, like in the Persona games from my experience you'll have to do a lot of grinding through dungeon floors to get your levels and personas up. Don't go over that in minute detail, just mention it and move on. Logging that in it extreme detail will just drive you mad.
  29. Yelim Already Beat BF's New Expansion

Hey, Does anyone remember the Hamtaro games?
I used to play two of them in my childhood...does anyone want to LP them?

I might LP them if I wasn't so lazy and have another LP going on at the moment.

EDIT: Well, I got off my lazy rear, and made the LP. It may soothe me for bad things to come in my LP of Devil survivor.

I wonder, is anyone would be interested in reading an LP of some old LucasArts titles? I have Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, and the entire Monkey Island series. I would love to do Monkey Island especially, but I wonder if I could pull it off.
  31. fadeaccompli Already Beat BF's New Expansion

I'd love to see a Let's Play of the first few Monkey Island games, since I only started playing the series on the third game. I think the trick would be to show enough of the dialogue to keep the humor and the plot, without trying to show every line of every conversation tree; because funny as those are, it'd take forever to post, and forever to read. Sort of the Reader's Digest condensed version of the game.

I, for example, do incredibly stupid amounts of grinding in Bahamut Lagoon to be able to buy your battle axe porn. You're welcome. (2k gold for a single porn magazine, man. TWO THOUSAND GOLD.)
I won't show any of it because it's obviously unnecessary, and all that grinding probably accounted for like 3/4 of my play time in my other save.
This stands true for most JRPGs, actually.
My FFX play through had 150 hours in it (I love grinding and stat raising stop looking at me like that.), and I think only around, what, 30 hours were of actual plot?

And I would love you forever if you LPed those games, especially Grim Fandango, the first Monkey Island and Full Throttle.
Full Throttle will be a complete nostalgia trip for me.

By the way can I request LPs of the Chzo Mythos games?
I think Faust would be perfect for them considering his past LP record.

I can plan about LPing those games!
(Btw, I want to continue my trend of scary games and I was also considering Prisoners of Ice, that I heard years ago and never got down to play it, and it's a lovecraftian adventure!)

And they were made by Ben Yahtzee Croshaw, of Zero Punctuation fame!
    There are four games:
5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Skeptic, Trilby's Notes and 6 Days a Sacrifice (Trilby's Notes is the beeesssstt oooneeeee).
It's also better if you play them on this order. 6 Days makes no sense if you haven't played the other ones, and 5 Days is the introduction to all this madness.
And they're all available for free and the Special Editions all have witty commentary by Yahtzee.
    It's great.
They're all really short, though. Around maybe 2 hours of gameplay each.

EDIT: Lovecraftian horrors? My, that obviously means you have to LP it.

  37. I loved the Chzo Mythos games and Yahtzee in general! Used to browse FullyRamblomatic compulsively back in the days before Zero Punctuation was a thing. Was actually planning on LPing Art of Theft here at some point before I realized that meh, I'm not THAT good at it, and there are speed runs of it on Youtube anyway.

Maybe we should have a single LP thread devoted to Yahtzee's entire oeuvre of games. Galaxy of Fantabulous Wonderment, anybody? :D

I sadly have played only his Chzo Mythos games.
I have everything else downloaded and ready to run, though.
The name "Galaxy of Fantabulous Wonderment" always intrigued me.

Making a single thread for all his games sounds reasonable~
The games are all rather small anyway, this way the thread won't end up gigantic. (I'm still scared of your Zafehouse, Ana. More than two hundred pages.)
  39. It's pretty manageable if you only read a couple rounds instead of the entire thing. For newcomers, I'd recommend just reading the first round (plus the reboot, because I screwed up the very first one's save), which should be a solid basis if you ever choose to go further, because a lot of the in-jokes in future rounds are based on what happens in that first round. And it's an enjoyable experience, in its own right.

I might put together a recommendation guide to the Zafehouse LP, if people are interested in reading it but are intimidated by the size. It'd mostly sum up the rounds, tell you a little bit of what you might find interesting about them, so you can decide which ones you want to read and which you'd like to skip.

That would be a lot helpful~
But I already made up my mind to read the entire thing. I just have to catch up to 3 other threads and then my path will be clear to take on this challenge.
If you start receiving endless like notifications, be assured it's me going through the Zafehouse thread.
I even thought up a character to RP as when I eventually catch up~
