I wasn't sure where this one should go. http://deadspin.com/5968935/take-th...pond-to-nbc-pre empting-sunday-night-football
That's weird. Brett's assured us that there are no racists who hate Obama. I'm sure these are just Democratic plants.
Well now, I'm gonna have to be more careful about clicking links in this thread while in mixed company. I mean, it should have gone without saying, but I'm stupid.
It seems unfair to paint the lone Bob's Burgers fan with the racist brush. He was just being an insensitive dickhead who was whining about being bummed out by Obummer's sad speech, but he wasn't angry that a black person might want to talk to him.
A very large number of those were not racist, they were just idiots being angry their football game was interupted.
Dude, come on. Bahimiron made the same point for one thing and you haven't said bupkis to him. Second, the thread title does say that and then it links to a collection of tweets, only some of which are racist. It may not have been the OP's intent, but Brett is very clearly just pointing out that the OP inadvertently lumped the ordinary morons in with the racist ones. If you want to argue with Brett, it's very easy to find places to do it; when you stretch and stretch to argue with him when he's saying something factually true and perfectly reasonable, you demean yourself.
I never said there were not some racists in there, but I think many of those tweets you would have seen no matter what the race of the president was because he dared to interrupt a football game.
Sure. But so what? Some idiots aren't racist? Well, alert the media. My response was more that you were making a pointless observation of "Hey, not ALL of those posts were racist." We'll, no shit. But about half of them are. I was focusing on them since thats what the thread was about.
Why do we need to alert the media about the racist idiots? These racist/misogynist/asshole shaming articles usually aren't interesting or funny (Oh my god, there are racists in America!), and I don't really like this type of vigilante justice (although in this case, they didn't go digging into the tweeters' backgrounds, so it's pretty mild). Maybe if I thought it could have any influence on stopping people from posting stupid shit, but it won't. The people who get called out on it will just do it more anonymously.
Why do you characterize "republishing something that someone else already said in public" as "vigilante justice"?
What do you think the point of the article is, then? To point out the heretofore unknown national crisis of idiots on Twitter? No, it's Here's some dudes who said incredibly stupid things. We're not telling you to go harass them, but if something unfortunate were to happen to them, well, they kinda deserved it.
I think it falls far short of that, these mouth breathers publicly call the the president a "nigger" and attached their names and pictures of themselves - To protest the President giving a speech in light of a horrific tragedy. The point of the article, and it makes its point without editorializing much, is that this is unacceptably moronic behavior, even for Footbaw Fans.
Alright, I concede that maybe there are some people who read Deadspin who aren't jaded enough to not be surprised about that.
"Hey, laugh at these fools and publicly shame them so they'll learn this type of behavior is no longer allowed in society and maybe, just maybe, the next generation will feel shame for the behavior of the previous and thus have less people willing to voice disgusting opinions."
Dammit. Thanks for the advice, though. EDIT: I think there's a vintage pancake syrup label that would fit the bill.
She tweets as well but Tila Tequila apparently had a ruptured brain aneurysm awhile back and welp She posts mind-bendingly bizarre stuff about, whatever, spiritual hoo-ha and concocts weirdo pics to describe her visions (no doubt scammed off deviantart or somewhere).
Bill Dungsroman, I am not a medical professional, so I am asking your considered medical opinion: Could being hit in the head with a full bottle of Faygo cause an aneurysm, even a belated one?
