I think the reason why women would wear a push-up bra needs to be considered. Because a lot of women (I don't speak for all women of course, but the ones I've encountered) who wear push-up don't do it because of the other sex, but more personal body issues. Of course to a certain extend, body issues have to do with fear of judgement from the other sex, but it's not a direct relation in this case (whereas actively lying about something for the sole purpose of getting in someones pants seems like a direct relation to me). It's not "I want to look attractive for this person", it's "I want to look attractive".

So if the guy is looking for a girl with big tits and the girl is looking for a man with a fat pay cheque I think we can all agree both are shallow. That, however, is irrelevant to the question of misrepresentation. If the girl's padding her As to look like Ds how is that different from the guy claiming he makes half a million? Both are lies intended to attract another, one is purely visible the other is purely auditory, neither are typically verified in public for differing reasons (asking if a woman's breasts are real is generally rude and people don't tend to walk around with their tax returns).

Not asking for verification of what someone is blatantly advertising doesn't mean they aren't misrepresenting themselves.

Same in the Air Force. They actually have a list of things that count as NOT consent. Including "If they have had any alcohol, that means no."

There's a bunch of other ones, like "maybe means no" etc. A lot of sexual assault tends to happen in the military (from and at both genders) so they try to counter it by having seminars and a zero tolerance policy. At least the AF does, fucked if I know what the other branches do.

As a ladyfolk with breasts I can verify that most of the judgement I've received about my boobs has come from other women, not from men (most of whom tended to be more "YAY BOOBS" than anything else).

My wife loves it when I throw on my sexy clothes and spend a little more time on my hair when we go out for dinner/drinks, and I love it when she throws on hers and puts a bit of make-up on. Sure, we don't look like that at all the time, but who cares? Are we actively lying to each other? Nope. As posted above, there is a line, even when that line is somewhat unclear. We were both dressed up when we met, and not for one second did I think she'd turn into a goblin at midnight or something. People getting dressed up for a date/night out, who woulda thought?

Because her misrepresentation is passive, not active. A viewer is making the assumption those are all real. Whereas if the guy says he makes half a million - that's a lie with no two ways about it, you cannot argue it any other way.

In my experience - a woman does not wear a size-enhancing bra solely to look like her breasts are larger, she wears it so that the overall aesthetic effect is improved. Then again, that's purely anecdotal from my experience.

You people are misrepresenting women's misrepresentation. No padding in the world takes them up more than two cup sizes, and probably only one. So it's more like "She looked like she had Ds but they were actually only Cs. Oh noes! Fraud!" And if it's really that important to you, you have the opportunity to change your mind once the truth comes out. Just say "Oh, God, there's nothing to hold on to down there. I'm not sure it's passive, she made a decision and took an action to alter her physical appearance. Just because she's not doing it verbally doesn't change that she's claiming she's something she's not. If I dress up like a cop and do a bunch of cop like things I'm still impersonating a police officer even if I never verbally say I'm a police officer.

I want to note that I in no way condone this PUA crap, it's ludicrous stuff. I just think people altering their physical appearance in non-obvious ways is just as much a misrepresentation as claiming you make more money or have a fancy job or whatever. If some guy rents a fancy car, has an entourage, the VIP room of the club reserved and a penthouse suite at a hotel in order to make it appear he has money is that less of a lie than just saying he has money? I don't think so, both are a means to make people believe something that isn't true.

This is the first time that reading something on Broken Forum has made me want to put my head in my hands. I've read both the earlier tipping conversation and nearly everything in the LP subforum.

On a technicality yes. It's mostly because for whatever reason there's less victims in the military that speak up if they're raped because some of them don't want their chain of command to know. It is a broad umbrella that covers more than it probably should (and also keeps people from using any excuse related to them being drunk), but I honestly find it better than the alternative. Besides, no charges are pressed if it's never brought out, so if a guy has sex with an intoxicated chick and she was totally okay with it and doesn't report it as rape ever (because she was okay with it) then it's not ever seen as an offense.

That and military people have a tendency to go out and get absolutely blitzed on the weekends. Which is why I stay home on Friday and Saturday night (as I live right next to the bar district).
