It doesn't even end, it just rolls over it's most significant increment, the baktun, to 13. I'm not aware of the world having ended 12 times in the last 2500 years or so.

It did start at the last 13 baktun, though. It's just that this piktun is a cycle of 20 baktun, cos the Maya liked to switch their shit up. Nope. The world won't really end until October in 4772. And heck, by then we'll all have been murdered by the blood drinking Jew lizards who will then deplete the world of its orgone before rocketing back to their Jewtopia in the stars.

I want to hurt the person who said that quote. Badly. Or possibly just burst into tears at how horribly callous they are. I feel sick.

It's a chestnut thrown out by the religious right that since we don't have state-mandated prayer in schools and government institutions, that God has withdrawn the protection that he provided for the past 200+ years of American history when nothing bad happened.

Fun fact: there is a Jewish belief (I'm not sure where it fits on the fringe/mainstream scale) that the Messiah will come no later than the Hebrew year 6000. It is currently 5773.

I saw a nice thing the other day (on FB actually) that said something like, "God didn't strike down America when millions of Indians were being murdered, or when millions of slaves were abused and killed, but God's going to make America suffer NOW because we are allowing gay marriage?" Or something like that. I liked it.

To be fair, OT God is totally cool with slavery and genocide so that view is at least internally consistent.

So this is less about a post and more a conversation with my brother tonight. Following an argument about CEO pay, the relative value of a chief executive officer, and a whole lot of other class warfare talking points and accusing me of changing by moving to NYC, he starts a new tact:

Him: "There's this book. I don't know if you've read it..."

Me: Please no. Don't go there. Don't tell me you've fallen that far....

Him: It's the best book to make sense of everything. After reading it, I just couldn't agree with it more....

Me: No, no, no, no. Don't say it.....

    Him: It's called Atlas Shrugged.....

    Me: Fuck! Fuck Fuck Fuck.....

Him: That one chapter? You know the one I mean, about the car company in Wisconsin? It's the best argument I've ever read against Communism.

Me: Communism? How old are you?

Him: You should definitely re-read that part.

Me: (Finally recovering enough to speak) I gotta go. We'll talk more about this later. Bye.

    Him: Bye!

    Me: *headdesk*

hahaha. I'm glad I read that when I was younger; as much as it influenced me from ca. ages 17-22, me at age 33 appreciates just how zany it is!

I am very tempted to post on FB that I am going to unfriend the next person who posts or shares that the magical solution to school shootings is "putting prayer back in schools."

I doubt most would see that as much of a threat, but I'm sure they'd pray for me.

"So, there was this guy on TV and he was saying that video games are the reason why all of these young people are getting guns and shooting people."
    "no."
"But the way he explained it made so much sense-"
    "no."
"...well the police confiscated that guy's (Adam Lanza, who recently killed multiple adults and children at an elementary school in Connecticut) computer, and they aren't saying what's on it, but I think it was a lot of those shooting games."

This is from another forum I'm on. It was a big long rant about European women being liberated and not having babies therefore the "European" race is doomed to be out-demographiced by Muslims.

    This was his closing line.

    It was locked pretty quickly.

MAYBE YOU DIDN'T NOTICE BUT GOD HAS RECENTLY BEEN KICKED OUT OF OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS SO HE'S NOT GONNA GO WHERE HE'S NOT WANTED!

Cos God is super polite. And omnipresence doesn't count if you ask him nicely not to watch you touch your dong?

Oh man. Based on HuckLogic, I think it's imperative that our representatives in Washington DC immediately pass legislation banning God from watching us bang out.

Let me get this straight: we should under no circumstances give money to schools so that they can do a proper job of educating Our Nation's Children, thereby forestalling America's descent into irrelevancy; we should, however, give money to schools for guns, ammo, and SWAT training.
