because we were there and saw the crime scene, you know.

    Yes we are!

Vampires are notorious suckers, if you know what I mean. That house was full of blood, and no respectable vampire leaves that much food around.

    He's sweating, Xol-kun! Keep going!

If you know a minimum of non-Twilight vampire lore, or at least watched "Dracula, Dead and Loving it", you'll know what it's coming.

Only the Sparkly ones (maybe), and this one isn't sparkly! (Quite the bishie, though)

Mr. Murderface has a point, Xolga.

With the magic shard of mirror I'll send in a scene that the LPlayer can't caption!

    Myth: Confirmed.

    Old school, mercury type.

That's an amazingly visible shard of mirror, tho.

Which one, the unmasked murderer of Ferris Boatlights?

Reflecting in the mirror is so overrated, people.

Digging yourself more won't help you, mister.

And you spout ir on incredible quantities, mister.

You should had buried it before blaming the vamp.

    *slow clapping*

    An awesome show, right?

It was in truth quite obvious, but Xolga showed a bit of lateral thinking here.

Not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty, not guilty...

not guilty, not guilty, not guilwait what

B-but we proved his innocence, and everything!

No! you have to believe the smart plushy!

Exactly! Why are you siccing on the sexy evidently very nice vamp?

Welll, I don't really (you remind me the head of the Supreme Court of my country, and not in a good way), but poor Xolga obviously did.

    Specially the "mayority" on power.

Ans this is why we found Ferris in the forest on Kingdom Days.

    Xolga, no!

    Oh, Ferris...

This is not fair! We demand another retrial!

On the bright side, at least we now know that if the whole detective thing doesn't work out, Xolga has great lawyer potential. -nodnod- He even has moderately spiky hair!

Confessing: I'm doing the LP as a second playing, and I swear, palabrita santa, that I truly didn't saw this turn of events coming on my first playtrough.
While me, and Xolga, and everyone playing this freak out, Ferris takes his dad destiny with aplomb.

No, honey, look, we're going to play your route and you'll have your happy ending, i swear it sweetie,

And so Ferris is confined in a coffin and all the feelings break loose.

And now the nice people of Intolerancia want the stuffing of our teddy hero.

Because naturally, this is what you get when you stood up by the friendly neighborhood supernatural creature.

    a mob of bloddthirsty villagers

In my official stance as you unofficial letplayer, i sayt you...
    ¡que corran, coño!

NO, DON'T SAY THAT, THAT'S DEATH FLAG TRIGGERING!

    TOKO, NO!

PLEASE, DON LET MR TOKO DIE

    TOKOOOOOOOOO T_T
    WHY SO NICE

Not in real life, sweetball, even less on old timey towns.

    Whatever you ask, sunshine!

    XOLGA, JUST SAY YES

    GOOD BEAR, XOLGA
    LET ME HUG YOU

    yes..?

    what.

No, in fact that's quite funny, what's not funny its you hitting an already hurt person.

And then I like to thing that the rock hitting was when Xol-bear and Toko-kun were into the forest, because that's the only way this scene (and the rest of the endgame) makes sense, what with the lacking of bloddthirsty tupamaro mob

So, like in former chapters, Toko, while genuinely hurt, isn't deadly so, only bleeding too much and being silly for the blood loss.

what with subverting all our expectations of this saga either ending early or having a posthumous character.

Well, it is less blood than in the first chapter.

What with everything being fucked up despite doing the right thing for once.

    Oh, Xolga...

Well, that's true... your defended was sealed and didn't found about the funky medallion either.

And in the future, if he is freed from his coffin prison, he may find love again.

    Xolga, Just admit he's right.

well, you're on your normal sour mood, and that's fine, I think?

It was more dynamic draw, too.

For a lot of things earlier.

(look mama, i can make gifs on GIMP)

awww you're counting all the times he has hit on you

You should do that, and with luck ti will free yourselves of UST, or at least bad blood.

    YOU ARE CONSIDERING THE IDEA?

    You're serious about this?

Because we know Yellowball will win.

That's the face of a genuinely impressed man.

And then the locket interropts the scene and goes puff again and if someone can capture and make a gif of that I'll love that person forever.

The Macguffin has escaped again, the bastard!

Because that locket is, at lack of a better word, a coño'emadre.

We'still have 5 chapters remaining to end this season!

I like to imagine Toko saying this with the same tone of disgruntled reluctance you use to mock your S.O bullshit. "whatever you say, hon"

So, a hurt Toko open the transdimensional door.

And I can't caption a good stil of this swirly shit.

We'll give you one soon, Ferris (or at least DreadCop will do)

    Specially Xol's

Oh, look, it's the toaster of the past chapter!
BTW, he is named Terry, and comes from a (non playable) Patchesis thing named Project Toaster. It's a bit rough, narratively speaking, but nonetheless adorable. Read just the past one by now, the second and third one will be relevant only when we touch the sequel series.

No, Terry, what are you doing
No, please, don't touch that funky piece of jewelry.
Please, Terry, run out that thing
    Terry, don't touch that thing
    Terry, please

    please

And so, we end this episode in despair!
With good luck, I'll play the next episode this week, and I won't drag three weeks into posting it..

In honor to the release of Numbers Days (seriously, girls, go and play it, its adorable), let's keep playing Xolga and Mr Toko, because why not?

Last episode we got to help a unjustly punished Friendly Neighborhood Vampire to recover his trust in human friendship and decency, while we practically we lost ours. This episode, we're going high tech trans-humanistic.

I can daydream easier by doing so, though

Is this thing ominous yet, or we'll need to invoke the yandere in the forum?

So Xolgas's ear, along with the rest of his body and Toko's, fall in a new world.

You'll do eventually, at least until the Funky Medallion of Doom decides to "spice" it.

The same of two chapters ago, yes

The fuck, pal, he didn't even agree to that

Uncle Xol has more important things to do.

Don't pout on me, you're a legal adult (we'll examine your mental age another day)

Because we've seen the place before, duh.

    and then
    [IMG]
So this is the name of this city? An anagram of Magic? Good thing I have very little contact with Anglo literature, or I would disqualified this cliche as "Too obvious". But then the author of these games wasn't probably of High School age when she came with the foundations of her multiverse, so I'm not going to be harsh. Not very.

Toko: to me, like you say this is either Guasdualito or Salsipuedes.

So, We now learn that, whenever Toko lived before, he went direct to his new job and didn't bothered on learn the local geography.
Also, this city is apparently so big, in a couple of other Patchesis games the different areas are treated like they were different towns. And, knowing that most parts of my city used to be small towns absorbed by metropolitan expansion and regional administration, maybe they are.

So that's the nostalgic feeling (and your nearby living cousin)

Toko, I don't even think Xolga himself wants to see his old home.

Xolga: not going to hit the flying yellow punchbag,, not going to hit the flying yellow punchbag, not going to hit the flying yellow punchbag,....

Toko, having an rare insight moment

Toko, the adorable scatterbrained flying egg with a probable past a a kid hitman, has never considered that kind of mundane problems

And still, the people in the universe with vampires on them wanted to burn your fluffy coat.

Why people always come to these conclusions? Scientist are not that barbarian, and these days, they stuck whenever unusual life forms with the non-invasive procedures first.

On mid day in a open street. Riiiiiight.

The return of the disgruntled reluctant mockery!

But that's a proof of love!

    How so?

Whatsoever, last time we had a cute girl who believes in science...

And a bear that doen't believe such a thing could exist.

    Xolga, seriously.

How old are you, sweethart? School didn't teach us this until we were on fourth grade or something nearby. I learned earlier because we have a junior encyclopedia from Salvat with that info in laguage easy to understand.

For the incredulois expression of Xolga, I'll assume 6 or so.

what happened to our megane waiter
    ....

Good news, today we don't have any dog.
Bad news! That truck is the obstacle du jour.

Now he need an hammonk on his tuck wheels and we'll have a typical trunk driver resting.

Now let's explore! What if we go where the solution to the last dilemma we had on this garden were?

Neither did Kai, and still he went down.

Pity the game doesn't let get a brick as a "memento".

Oh my, I have to continue reading Sket Dance, I only got until chapter 50-something or so before I got distracted by another thing.
Normally, I'm more partial toward Megane men. But I concur that without glasses and with art evolution Akito has become a veritable example of hotness or, as they say in my land, papito mi rey.

For Sherlock I'll have to use the... alternative roads, given that my country, me internet plan and my choice of O.S. conspire against me using Netflix.

    Well, let's explore!

I'm surprised those still exist, in my country you can't get any payphone, even less one who still uses coins.

So what you really need to change your mood is a hot cofee? Hmmmm...

In the grand tradition of JRPG we search on the trashcan and...
Now I'm curious on how they got there.

You can do that? Developed countries sure are amazing! I keep my old glasses piling in some drawer.

That's a good idea. kinda dirty, but good nonetheless.

Man, if Ness from Earthbound can eat a burger that he found in a trashcan, so you can use your tentacle arms for the better good of restoring the lost megane-ness of a veritable hottie.

C'mon, how dirty can be that trashcan? It doen't even have anything outside!
Now, if it looked like this, then i would agree with you.

Xolga, why don't do you that? Oh, right, too short,

Ah, Xolga, If you knew the adventures seen by that storm drain...

I hope that manhole becomes relevant in another game.

Finally, we arrive to the last place to explore!
Xolga makes the question he should have done a long time ago, but I'm feeling that the plot intended to we to come here first before we began our exploration.

It sound kind of interesting, and if the toaster head still have their original function, kind of convenient.

It could be a small kid cosplaying a toaster robot. Also, in this universe robots are people too.

You... you made a robot at this young age.
LET ME LOVE YOU AND FINANCE YOUR EDUCATION FOREVER!

Nah, it's just her being a genius on her own.

And Xolga won't never catch the implications of the word "was" in that phrase.

If my cliches about autonomous robots apply there, he should be on a place where he could understand that phenomenon named "life".

So this is our new playground.

Xolga, admit you miss your town, and go back there.

It always intrigue me the relationship a lot of cultures have with summer and fireworks, maybe because in my country we only have them on Christmas-New year season.. U.S.A. I understand because of the need of do a celebration of independence without having militar parades everywhere, but for the rest...

You hadn't see enough Japanese people sleeping pics on the internet, Xol-kun.

It sure vends mockbuster-type snacks of dubious quality, which are expired too.

Nothing more interesting there for now, so let's backtrack and give Akito his glasses back.
    No, you're welcome. Very welcome.

In fact the "hyper" thing and their relation with sugar is iffy at best, and for most people eating a lot of sugar results not in an energy rush, but actually in a sleepy slump. However, I still don't want to take the risk with you :D

    Nothing new in the trashcan.

What happen if we give those ants the candy?

Merry Christmas everybody! In the commemoration of the birth of Baby Jesus and his immediate incorporation in the job market via bringing gifts to the places too hot for Santa and his reindeers, and to keep myself from reading what I can fin online of Umineko's manga, let's play the installment of Xolga and Mr Toko that goes right in the kokoro!

    Yay!

In the legendary words of the Original promo for MOTHER, don't cry until the ending, please. Also mean not spoiling. There are probably someone who hadn't played this episode, and we're not going to ruin the sad surprises. To the ones in the know, let's count the flags.

Nice advice, even is a bit decontextualized.

This is more relevnt that it seems, I'm afraid.

So, white void and backgroundless scenario! It must be a flashback

In the park of the lazy artisttry, Xol-kun.

    She looks nice, sorta.

I was proposing that the nameless Xolga's Mom was drinking the legendary Guarapita del Dr Killer, aka the most lethal known by men (just sightyly less intoxicating that's Monkey's Island's Grog), but the bottle instead reminded men of the cheapest kind of Ron Pampero
    [IMG]
At least the lady hasn't began drinking any kind of caña clara or lavagallos.

On one side, chibi Xolga kawaiii desu ne~~
On the other side, you have no idea how I understand you, babeh.

Oh, so even in his memories Xolga doesn't call her "Mom" in the title, he identifies her for her given name. Bad signal Number 1.
So it seems Xolga's parents that they are still legally together, but in the practice Ryoko is a single mom, even if completely alcoholized.
You know that this puts the runaway joke of her being too drunk to register her son with a reasonable name under a creepier and sadder perspective, do you?

So this is the park in front of that convenience store with the coin plane. Poor woman can't afford a better walk with her son. And to the poor kid this is probably the nicest thing around.

This is the expression of a woman thinking "hmm, I give the kid some entretaining ir I'll be without dinner for me tonight?"

"As long as the kid is happy, no dinner for me tonight it is!"

But you are a kid Xol-chan. I calculate you eight or nine years tops.

So this woman is normally not prone to being nice to her son that simply her offering to put a con in a machine so her kid can play is taken by the chibi as "showing her nice side"?

NOW I UNDERSTAND AS LOT OF THINGS ABOUT YOU XOL.KUN

AND THIS ACTIVITY WILL DOESN'T HAVE A BIS

I don't want to know how she acts the rest of the time.
but if this is one the nicest way she has acted towards her only son, I'm now understanding why the kid ran ways with their cousins and then to a legal enforcement agency with low entrance requirements.

Today, I showed the S.O. these games, because the S.O. is awesome on point and click games, and watching him play I realized that I missed an scene in chapter 4. Should I replay the game to post it Y/N?
While I muse this transcendental decision, let's finish this chapter already, before the feels overwhelm me.

    Where we left last time?
And by serious, we mean, playable part time!

Now, there is a thing you have to know about this chapter. I had to reload it about three time the very first time I played it, because I managed to trigger a bug what happen if you collect some items in a certain order or place some items incorrectly. Also this is the fist time we find a very esoteric mission without a good clue, something that is a given every time we play on Toko's backstory. The only advantage we have with respect to the other Toko's mission we'll eventually play is that this one at least have a semi-clearly spell hint. but we'll touch that on a moment.
If you're are noobs as clueless as me the very first time, you'll be lost for about a good 20 minute until you click everything and realize the solution or the puzzle, or get frustrated and go to the YouTube video with the solution. Yes, even Patchesis had to put a video with the solution (made by another person, but still) given how much people get lost.
Luckily, you will get the solution of the puzzle if you follow my handy guide. Just ignore the snark.

    Here we begin.

Now, how we solve the intriguing mystery that keep us locked with bloodthirsty sicario cultists?
    Easy:
    That the child gain wisdom

That the king sits on his throne

That the angels bathe in the warmth of God

That the lost souls feel the life of the rhythm

And that the ugly gain a bit of beauty.

Back to the last room and...
