Amaya is confused. Ivan, are you psychic?

Luckily, Tamir does agree and Amaya is saved. He gives her some time to observe the princes and come to a decision on her own. In the meantime, she's given a room and Ivan is assigned to serve her. I always wanted my own personal butler.

So, as they're walking to her room, Amaya tries to thank Ivan for saving her, but he brushes it off, saying he only proposed the obvious solution. Amaya can't tell what he's thinking because his face is so expressionless and ~~mysterious~~.



Amaya: "...Do you believe me now?"



Amaya: "Huh? Is that the only reason?"

Ivan: "I can think of no reason more persuasive."

He's really, really loyal, huh? I hope this doesn't mean the king is our rival on this route.

They arrive at Amaya's new digs.

Ivan: "Please rest for today. I'll explain the details tomorrow."

Amaya: "All right."





She thinks this is all like a fairytale and could never happen in Japan. She decides she'll just worry about it tomorrow and falls asleep.

Aww Chezem <3 Best route! Every other guy can go home there is no point. Science demands other(not chezem) routes though, so I guess I'll be a good scientist and see how Ivan's route goes.

This is one of those cases in which I know there's a correct answer (most likely B) and then there's the answer I would actually give (C, probably with added assorted curse words - I'm not a morning person).

So, B. Because I know I'd make for a bad otome protag.

I hate to break this to you, but Chezem is not Arabic. I'm also guessing that the names the brothers were given were supposed to reflect their mother's nationality and not their father's.

It seems to be American tradition to get your last name misspelled in some horrific or odd fashion.

I should clarify: I meant they could to people who did no research (and I doubt Solmare does) at least sound kind of foreign, which makes the random European in the middle of everything stand out. Kind of like Fantine or Javert aren't real French names but SOUND believably French. Though that might be because they were invented by a Frenchman.

Unfortunately, I am a human cat, and my curiosity has killed me many, many times. I thought his name sounded Arabic as well, but not quite---so I just HAD to Google it.

In the creative writing classes I've had, they've always said to choose the names of your characters carefully. Apparently it means everything.

Well, I did have a Danish reference source, but I wasn't sure if it'd make much sense XD

(It's an actor called Pilou, only that's not not his name, it's a bastardization of his middle name, Philip, which makes sense if you speak Danish)

I think Solmare just mostly made up names they thought sounded pretty, with a few exceptions (like Melchiorre and Nagit(o)). I mean, take Jun. His name sounds like it maybe could be Chinese, and he kinda dresses Chinese, but his mom is from Not Arabia, sooo...

Anyway, looks like we're going with option B again.

Melchiorre is the name of one of the Three Wise Men in Italian. It's actually the correct Italian form. Melchiorre is the one that brings myrrh. I think he's supposed to represent the Asians* in apocryphal tradition? Or something.

*As in Near East. He's Persian.

I have no idea where they pulled it from. If it's supposed to be because he's got an Italian mother (that just might be, I recognize the stereotype: vain, carefree, womanizer) then they picked basically one of the most uncommon names ever. If not then I have no clue.

Amaya tells herself that she likes learning new things and tries to look on the bright side. 'Atta girl.



Ivan: "I'll teach you to calmly grasp a situation and react perfectly to it."

Amaya thinks it's too much after all and sighs.



Amaya: "All I have to do is pick the next king, right? But if I'm not even good enough for that then training is pointless."
