To GREE or not to GREE

I tried that before, but it always makes the app crash.

Sympathy like. This is why I don't have GREE.

well, Gree is available in France since a few weeks.
For now, I've only tried the Ninja game, and Be my princess.

I cancelled the ninjas rapidly, 'cause the passport thing used in this version was really a pain in the ass, I explained that in the thread related to the game. I calculated that using only daily money updates, I had to wait circa 6 weeks, just to get enough passeports for 1 chapter. So I gave up.

Be my princess is really much more easy and it takes me around 3 days to get enough points to continue, that's reasonable.

And I must add, Gree is for now the only solution for me: I play on a tab, and not on a phone ( yep, mine was stolen 3 months ago, and I don't really need one, so I haven't replaced it. I prefer to wait for interesting offers and get some android phone). And some of those games ( Voltage ones mainly) don't work on a tab, cause you need a $^*ù=)^ù* sim card to play. If some day Voltage changes this, well, I'll play the regular version, maybe.

Ho and, Angie, that Balls name made me laugh so hard, sure you get pretty kinky turns of sentences like this ( "my sweet balls and God" killed me! .. incidentally, "god" in my langage sounds pretty kinky to, it's a familiar name for , aheum.. dildo ^^;)..

I always name Character Baka something, for the same reason ( less kinky, but it always delight me to read: "baka, you really are a silly one", " Baka, you're so clumsy, I can't leave you alone for one minute, can I?" I proves to be awfully accurate the most part of time!) perhaps i should name her Nuts next time, to get nice double meanings).

But Well Princess game made me reconsider my first point of wiev, I'll try Bodygard game I think.

Keith must be really different in the GREE game than the non-GREE. In the non-GREE, Keith and the protagonist still get in shouting matches past the mid-game because she's just as stubborn as he is, but then they realize what they're doing and they both start laughing. Every time. It's cute, in a !hot-blooded! kind of way.

That's how his Christmas event went, and while I was annoyed it wasn't offensive. This New Years event, though. Sheesh.

I saw some of the slide decks that GREE were sending to developers when they took over OpenFeint. They gave off a very sinister vibe. If you have to use it, I'd recommend using fake details, a trash e-mail address and pre-emptively filing a restraining order.

I was almost finished with Subaru (last one I needed) and when I went to bed yesterday, the timer said "30hr remaining" or something... I'm pretty sure I didn't sleep through a whole day.

Yeah, the timer was off. Dunno if they are going to make some sort of apology or what. Luckily I completed all 5 paths in time.

That whole event was buggy. For a few days at the beginning, you couldn't get added charm by going to the casino guard with someone else. And on top of that, they had the "lucky 24 hours" thing going on, so I was spending 30 energies a shot just to lose instead of 20. Not to mention the bits where they didn't translate parts of the interface (though that was pretty easy to work around if you knew where the buttons were).

When they fixed the charm bug, they sent out some free gifts, so maybe they'll do the same thing for ending the event early? I noticed it was switching between something like 30 hours and 8 hours off and on near the end, so I wondered what was up.

I got through 4 of the 5, which was pretty good, considering how buggy it was.

I haven't decided yet who to go after next. Leaning somewhat towards Edward or Glenn, but maybe I should knock out one of the tsunderes.

I'm doing Glenn right now, and I don't like him. Yuu on the other hand is just precious.

Yuu and Alan made the route for me. Though, Glenn isn't all that bad. His Valentine's event though.

Over in My Sweet Bodyguard, I am doing the Hot Springs event with Mizuki and WOW WHAT A SWEETIE

Yanno, I kind of like the Bodyguards more'n the Princes. They just are all around more appealing to me. Now Butlers to Bodyguards, that'd be an interesting battle. But anyhow! Thanks to your tipoff, I'm making headway in the Hot Springs event. <3 And whoa, I think I could complete all three easy, glad they split it up.

I prefer the Bodyguards to the Princes too, just wish the game itself wasn't so much harder. Not only does it cost more to proceed (am stuck on the main story now and can't save up for the sweet route due to all the events), but you don't get nearly as many opportunities to increase your closet or storage for free. (Not enough chances to increase storage in either, but at least event gachas give you close space fairly often.)

Both games are seriously tempting me to spend money to increase storage (and closet in Bodyguards), and I hate paying for freemium games. I prefer just paying for a game outright or playing free or paying a subscription, as they're usually better value for money and don't try to trick you into constantly spending money. But I have a feeling I may break down for these two.

I also want to know who thought pink text on a purple background was a good idea. The text sizes and link sizes are way too small in these games anyway, but that's just completely unreadable.

GREE is crashing on my way less often now, I'm actually starting to gasp enjoy the GREE versions!

GREE doesn't crash for me, but I do find it very buggy - e.g., I have to completely close Bodyguard if I don't access it for a while, or it tells me I'm out of region. Or the link to greet the next player disappears randomly, so I have to go click back to my room to greet again.

The games are fun, including the GREE bits, but if they fixed just a few tiny usability issues, they'd be 10000x better.

So I decided to alternate between routes I will definitely hate and routes I might actually enjoy in Be My Princess, so I started Glenn's route. I just finished the first chapter and I want to murder him. Poor Yu. Poor Balls. And his first princess gacha is to get playroom furniture for Alan for my house? Look, Wilfred gave me all this gorgeous Rococo furniture through his gachas and I am fucking keeping it.

Have I mentioned how much I hate the passport system in combination with the limited duration of the side stories in Ninja Love?
I got enough passports to clear what I thought was the last barrier of the latest side story on the last day it was available, only to be met with another barrier just one episode after the last one.
It was frustrating, to say the least.

I am struggling with the passport system too. Ugh.

WHY DID I PICK GLENN

I am on his Valentines event and he just shoved the protagonist up against a wall and threatened to sexually assault her because he thought she gave someone a cake.

I've heard a lot of people say they don't like Glenn at all in the GREE game but they like him in the regular BMP game. I really liked Glenn's route in the non-GREE game (so many feels, I was crying because of a stupid VN), so I kind of have a morbid curiosity about what is so different about him in the GREE version.

I've only gotten through Chapter 2 in his regular route because I am grinding out love factors for the Valentines event instead of royal factors for the main route. In the main route so far he's been really dickish whenever there is an observer, and very cute/flirtatious when he's alone with the protagonist. However, Yu has already warned her that she should never mention having been childhood friends with him because SOMEONE would be incredibly jealous and take it out on both of them.

Oh yeah, and Glenn lied to her about why he was bringing her to Oriens. See, the fashion house that she was working for was rocked by scandal and temporarily shut down while the head of the label cleared his reputation (this happens in all routes) and Glenn offered her a position in Oriens as his personal tailor. When she got there, he said she was just there to be Alan's nanny, since she had no reputation of her own there was no way she could be a royal tailor, but she could design clothes for him in her off hours if she really wanted to.

The Valentine's event was continuing the same pattern of jerk in public, cute in private. He burst in on her practicing making the chocolate cake that she planned on giving him and helped cool down a burn she got from getting the cake out of the oven, then encouraged her pretty sweetly. But then the next day MISUNDERSTANDINGS FUELED BY ALAN and Glenn thought that the cake was for Yu and he tried to sexually assault her out of jealousy.

This is what he said right after yelling at the protagonist to stop pleasing people and shoving her up against the wall. She pushed him away and dropped the cake she made for him before running away. Of course, since she is an otomege protagonist she had to reflect on how sad it was that she dropped the cake that was filled with her love for him, not how sad it was that her stupid boyfriend is the worst.
