I don't see why not! There's nothing in the rules against 2 LPs of the same game going on. :)

Isn't the most unpopular route Taira? Or is that just me being bitter that I stupidly tried to play his route blind?

I have no clue. All I do is play the "WHY DOES THIS EXIST?" routes and the secret characters. Or the most ignored routes. Because I suffer like that meaning I'm enjoying myself.

As for posting, you'll have to wait a week and I think you need to have posted ten messages before you can start a thread.

Taira is the best, okay? I'd say - Kasuga Taiyo is pretty unpopular, because he's a whiny shouta and using nothing but the baseball command is so boring.

Is Taira the really normal guy or the author? I don't remember anyone's names in this game outside of the main six and the girlfriends.

Taira is your super adorable, but very average classmate. The author is Aizawa Shugo.

I tried getting Taira in the third game and I can't. Manage. To initiate. Conversation. OBVIOUSLY THAT IS A ROUTE I MUST LP ONCE THE PATCH COMES OUT!

But seriously, the guide was no help. He's freaken difficult to get.

Getting the conversations was never a problem for me. Making people like me enough to become Rose Queen, but not enough to trigger their school play was a pain, however.

Any tips and advice on how to initiate a conversation with him and what you did for the stats would be more than welcomed.

I assume you're playing on the DS?
Whenever the guide tells you to touch Taira on a certain date - NEVER ever skip any text that day. Go through every line and touch him directly (just tapping somewhere on the screen won't trigger his events) whenever you see him in the BG. If it doesn't trigger, go to the next dialoge box and touch Taira again.

The days you have to trigger yourself are
- First day of school, 1st year (you have to touch him TWICE here. Once before Oosaka enters the room. The second time after Oosaka leaves with Himuro I think, but I'm not 100% sure here. Just keep touching him the whole time)
- Sports day after the dance, 1st year
- Valentines Day by the shoe box, 1st year
- Sports day after the dance, 2nd year
- School trip before you enter the bus on the first day, 2nd year
- Sports day after the dance, 3rd year
- December 1st by the shoe box, 3rd year

His other events happen automatically.
However, you need to have at least 130 in every stat by February, 2nd year, or you'll leave his path.

I'm not entirely sure if you need to win the Rose Queen event, but I'd advise you to try for it. That means you need to have at least 130 in every stat, you need to know at least four main guys (Sakurai brothers + 2 other guys), and the sum of everyone's affection needs to be at least at :)
Try not to date any guys, so you won't get bombs. Raising your stats, and walking home with them should be enough to make them like you.
I actually got Kou to fall head over heels for me without dating him even once. In the end, I had to stand him up on several dates before his affection droped to a level that didn't trigger his school play CG.

Okay, so maybe not having a battle system in a Tokimemo game is not always a bad thing, because if you and another guy are going after the same girl that means your dudebro challenges you to a duel before graduation and then he's summoning volcanoes that oneshot you if you make a single mistake and then suddenly you're looking at the Forever Alone ending and your hand hurts and you need to buy a new monitor.

Also I think I accidentally might have romanced a boy. I . . . I guess that's cool.

Definitely feel free! I'm LPing the PSP version because there's no translation patch slated for it, but I've had assignments and presentations just about up to my eyebrows recently so I haven't had the time to sit down for a session of sempai-poking and translation. So go for it!

TokiRes is out for iOs and Android! It does have download restrictions, though, so you need a Japanese iStore account/ a rooted Droid for it to work.

The art is indeed very nice! The animations are super smooth. It does lag a bit if the guys are really close, but it's not too bad. It's even better than TMGS3 Premium's art.

Just popping in to say that Tokimeki Restoran works for me in Bluestacks. You need a Japanese VPN, however.
