Should We Play Games have a pogeymanz subforum? Because it has a lot of pogeymanz. If so, I move that it be called We Poké Mans.
Jacquelle: But then it's just a pogeymanz LP subforum. This would be for LP and discussion of pogeymanz.
I think we should take the new categories and add layers within the layers and then also some more subforums within the subforums.
I don't mind having more subforums, though there is a risk on fragmenting discussion too much and discouraging it as a byproduct. I don't think any game or game franchise deserves its own subforum, though. Not even Dark Souls. But if we go down that path I'd advocate for a means to ignore subforums just to reduce the increasing visual clutter. Or maybe some way to re-order forums so I can put the ones I read at the top.
What's the difference between "January And Everything After" and "Drama Llama Holding Pen" anyway? All the tiny subforums we have are going to lead to ghettoisation of their niches. Everything under the "Games" banner should be in a single giant forum called "Games". I mean the traditional games forum has been open for what, six months, and has 52 threads. 52! That's two threads a week and you split it out into its own forum?
The real question here is why is there not a "What's new?" link at the bottom of threads so you don't have to scroll up.
One is about our individual lives and how we experience and handle ourselves out in the real world, the other is a place for us to examine and discuss the little community we've got going on here.
I like the groupings, personally. It's what I'm used to seeing on other forums, so it doesn't really bother me.
I like the new stuff. I find the idea of a Dark Souls subforum amusing, though. But, then, Charles needs to get his FEELS out somewhere...
I would like to also request my own subforum, with full moderator powers. I promise to abuse said powers in every way I can. Thanks in advance!
Actually, that's kind of the nice part, I like the traditional games section, because a post about a traditional game won't get buried by all the traffic of electronic games.
Also, just not to be hypocritical, I like the traditional games forum, but dislike the Dark Souls subforum as its very, very narrow in focus, and it's not like there was a huge issue of the dark souls thread getting lost, or an influx of dark souls related posts crowding out other discussions.
I think that the Dark Souls forum is a joke that will remain because it is both functional and hilarious.
Just came over to skim and I was amazed at how much easier it is to find threads I like (sorry, I hate subscribing!) with the new format. Much cleaner, subforums are great! I will now go back and read this thread and find out everyone else hates this,
Seems to be about a 50/50 split. Someone could make a poll and find out for sure, not that it would make much difference. Based on his work in the bargain thread, I think he deserves this. I'd vote for a Creole Ned forum.
Wait, are Dark Souls players comparing their phalli now? Is it like the business card scene from American Psycho?
