So I recently discovered, having not used any VOIP programs since I rebuilt my machine, that whenever I am running one ( Skype, TS3, Mumble and Ventrilo all do this ) with an active call/conversation the sound on my computer becomes garbled.

Everything gets a sort of tinny electronic/robotic sound, sort of like the beginning of some bad static but never getting into actual static. If I exit the program, my sound stops working entirely. I can either reboot to get it working, or going into TS3's settings and using the mic test function works to restore it to normal, but leaving TS3 stops it working again.

I am honestly clueless about this, anyone with more experience at computer sound troubleshooting able to help?

I'm using integrated Realtek HD audio, if it helps.

All those programs might be using Windows audio ducking, which might be faulty on your setup, see if disabling that fixes it. Otherwise I'm going to suggest just replacing your current audio driver.

Have already done both of those =(. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I have a lead that it might be my LAN driver, so I'm looking into that as we speak and hoping for the best.

Looks like it was, in fact, my Realtek GBE PCIE LAN driver. I have no idea how this is even possible, but removing it fixed the problem.
