What game are you playing at the moment?

I finished Dark Souls (101 hours!) and started another character with a focus in Strength to try out some of the ridiculous oversized weapons, but I suffer from GameEnditis where my interest plummets drastically after a game is ended. I was wondering if Dark Souls is proof and it *might* be ... but at the moment I'm all over Sleeping Dogs. Great game, excellent systems and so much to do. We'll see if I get another hankering for DS at some point but right now the "need to play something else" effect is in full swing, and it helps that SD is so good.

I was all 'huh, Assassin's Creed 3 is out soon? Might get that in the New Year when the price comes down a bit'. Then I spent about twenty minutes tooling around Venice last night in AssCreed2 and now I'm all 'WAAAAANT'.

I've gotten a bit bored of Guild Wars 2, so I went back to Skyrim. I played that a lot when it first came out but then took a break from it, and the 2 DLCs flew under my radar for some reason. I grabbed the PC version of the game and the Hearthfire DLC together with a bunch of mods, and so far it has been great fun.
It doesn't look as good on my PC as on the xbox 360, but mods fix a lot of game-play issues like the non-scaling magic, better followers, rings for the left hand and so on. Things like bandoleers and cloaks are great too.

I really like the Hearthfire DLC as well. Building your own house from scratch is great, and it is taking me quite a while to get all the materials together with my new character. I'm looking forward to adopt two kids as well once I have the bedrooms built for them. It's TES meets The Sims, and since I love both franchises that is perfect for me.

I think I'll pick up the Dawnguard DLC during the Christmas Steam sale, for now there is plenty to do in the game with a new character so I don't really need more quest content at the moment.

Just got the Okami HD remake. It's so gorgeous. This game was made for HD. The rest is just as wonderful as I remember, and the addition of trophies is pretty cool.

How can I get my hands on that? I don't see any copies of it for sale in the usual places online.

Unfortunately you can only get it over PSN (it's 13 gigs). Japan gets a boxed copy but we don't.

I hit a wall on XCom about a week ago and haven't played anything since. Not sure why, and its not like I'm waiting for something new to come out. Just no real interest in gaming at the moment.

Oh shit, new Spectromancer expansion is out! You're damn right I'm playing that tonight.

If anyone wants to start a thread, I'm all up ons. Not sure if we have enough interest around here in the game, but it's an absolutely brilliant sort-of-Magic: The Gathering-kinda turn-based card dueling game. The multiplayer is awesome and awesomely balanced as well.

Yep. Three new classes, and the campaign is changed to where you start out with all the cards and unlock better versions as you go along, which is neat.

On a whim, I grabbed Stronghold: Crusaders from GOG.com yesterday. I played the original briefly - years ago - and I'm familiar with the basic concept. And "city builder + RTS" should be right up my alley. I fired it up, started the tutorial campaign, and after spending a while looking for basic UI controls (the 'tutorial' doesn't really point anything out), soon I was getting my crusading ass stomped by a ragtag band of maybe four bad guys with scimitars.

I restarted the mission and made a point of making weapons earlier, so I could create some archers and spearmen. Again, I heard my adviser guy say "enemies approaching" or whatever, and I put my mans at them. Except they have horses. Horses! I have toothpicks and a frail European constitution. They killed most of my peasants before I was able to subdue the heathen.

Advance to the next campaign mission, and this time I'm actually supposed to build a castle of my own. Finally! Yay! Except... I can't build walls over the tiniest imperfections of terrain, like pebbles. Or a bush. A small sapling will stop the Knights Templar in its tracks. I guess I was supposed to build a military first, meaning: iron mine, blacksmith, armorsmith, fletchers', pole-makers, armory, barracks, and the peasants to work them all before you can train any mans. I tried to build walls and shit first, and when the saracens or whomever showed up, their scimitars feasted on the blood of my cracker-ass peasants because I had literally no soldiers of any kind.

So much for the Holy Land, they can keep it for all I care.

EDIT: Bah, not picking this up till it officially releases through Steam. I just want to buy the DLC and update my existing copy, I don't want to fuck with .exes and reg codes and shit behind the scenes.

I am totally looking forward to this though, I have over 120+ hours on my current copy according to Steam. My wife and I are big fans and play together on a regular basis.

Switching between Hakuoki and Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns. My afternoons are going something like this: "I'm bored of all this talking. I'm going to farm things!" "I'm bored of all this farming. I'm going to go watch people talk!"

Still Pandaria 24/7 pretty much. Took a quick look at New Super Mario Bros 2 on DS and, yup, it's more of that all right. Somehow I accidentally found a warp to some weird levels (Mushroom-1, Mushroom-2, Fire Flower-1, etc) but I can't really explain it because I had the flu all weekend which tinges my memories of the gameplay.

I think I would like it more if it were a remake or sequel to Super Mario Bros 2, as opposed to a sequel to New Super Mario Bros.

Anyways I have to stop playing WoW completely until I get caught up from the classwork I missed from being out of action with the flu the last few days. Well, not completely, I can't abandon the Tillers dailies! I've almost completed my farm!

Finished Xcom for the second time, Iron Man Classic, but I can't see myself playing it again, it started to get repetitive. Reverted back to World of Tanks, with some Mechwarrior Online, though can't say I'm enjoying the latter all that much.

Still KOTOR2. I love all the intrigue going on back on the ship, and the way the game just feels like an Obsidian game with the way the cinematic don't quite flow together properly.

Euro Truck Simulator 2. I have no explanation except that it's fun.

Also poking along in Guild Wars 2. I love it that I can play at my own pace and STILL do everything - the downleveling and portaling to play with friends anytime and of course lack of monthly fee so that I don't feel compelled. I'll probably be throwing in some money into the store at some point just to support them.

I bought Cargo Commander on Steam. It's a fun game with solid gameplay and some neat ideas, and I hate it. It has a server to host leaderboards and you have to check in with that server at the end of a level. If for some reason you can't connect, either due to a problem on their end (it's already been down for maintenance once in the past few days) or on your end, you are dumped back to the main menu without saving. It only saves between levels, and you can't leave a level without connecting to the server first. You'll just have to play that level again. It's happened to me more often than not, and the only offline mode is a practice mode that strips out several core features. At least it has a "fuck you" button.

I am playing NaNoWriMo, which really only takes 2-3 hours a day, but agonizing about those 2-3 hours, and then putting them off until I start feeling really guilty takes up all my other gaming time.

If I just sat down and wrote, I'd have enough time to get back to AC: Rev, but I guess that's not to be.

I bought Okami HD this morning and have been playing it again. I never got very far into the ps2 version way back when; it looks even nicer now. I had forgotten what an incredible slog the un-speed-up-able text crawls were for the intro portions of the game, but now I'm starting to revitalize dead trees again and things are picking up.

Installed KotOR 2 again because I heard that the restored content mod was finally finished. Spent so much time looking for mods that I became too tired to play the actual game tonight, but now I've got custom lightsabers for everyone and a gorgeous new head.

Finished AC:R, which was a nice bookend to the Ezio storyline but mostly forgettable. Moved on to Ico, which I've played through twice and am enjoying reasonably the third time through. If anything, it's a study in how much has changed in climbing mechanics over the years.

Wanted to play something city-buildery so finally got around to Settlers 7. It's fun, but it's a bit slow through 5 campaign maps (they need a faster speed than rabbit for single-player) and a bit more intense than I would have expected on skirmish, especially on normal difficulty.

Just finished a run-through of Ico last night. It's still a beautiful game but was more frustrating than the last time I played it. Mostly it was just the lack of frequent save points, which left me repeating one section at least three times. Part of me is considering a NG+ run through, since I've never done that before. This run took me about 5 hours, so I could probably push through it in another three or so.

Either way, SotC is up next. Then it's basically a dead zone for me unless I pick up some random stuff from my wish list.

The recent release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II (which I haven't bought yet) prompted me to fire up some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer for the first time in months. I am, of course, getting absolutely slapped around but I can already feel the game getting its claws back into me. I even went for a quick spin through the MW1 and MW2 lobbies and joined some free-for-all games. MW1 is starting to show its age which makes me feel a bit sad. I wish Infinity Ward would repackage some of the MW1 and MW2 maps for MW3 but that's not going to happen.

Christ, no kidding on that. I remember finishing Okami for the first time and loving it to death, but then I restarted a New Game + and turned off the console within minutes because I couldn't deal with the text speed and the interminable intro.

I also picked up the HD version and got sucked into it anyway. It's a lazy-ass HD rerelease and for some reason more expensive than other equivalents of its kind on PSN, but it's impossible not to love it because it's such a beautiful and expressive game.
