So CES ends friday and I have one night with no plans before flying home. I just saw that Steven Wright is on for two nights and I'm a big fan... But does he still have it? It's also been a while since I saw P&T last and it's a new show. Or something else? Feel free to also offer suggestions on what's the best most kid friendly show for when we return with the kids this summer (I saw Love last year and could certainly see taking the kids to that, but wouldn't mind something that I hadn't seen either... Just no Elvis, please)
Go see Penn & Teller. When you bring the kids, take them to go visit Uncle Bill D who can regale them with stories of turning corpses inside out in his youth.
I saw O and it was pretty amazing. It has [slightly creepy and sad] clowns, so the kids might like it. Seriously, though, the kids might like it. Edit: Yeah, Blue Man group is fun too. Probably more "fun" than O, but less of a spectacle.
I saw Blue Man Group last time I was in LV and it was totally family-friendly and surprisingly awesome.
Yeah, BMG would be a really solid option. A great show for the family. I'd also consider KA, Mystere, or O. You really can't go wrong with any of those with the kiddos* Hopefully you can track down some discounted tickets. (and I'll be a Vegas resident when you roll through, so hopefully we can arrange a BF meet-up of some sort) *disclaimer: I have no kids
I was going to recommend Love, as I always do. Then I saw you've seen it. I'd love to see it myself some time.
Better yet, go to the Double Down and possibly catch a performance by Uberschall. That way you can enjoy BMG in a wholly new and exciting way while sipping on a Bacontini or Ass Juice. And also possibly getting hepatitis-c. Depends on if you touch anything there with your exposed skin.
I can strongly recommend Amazing Jonathan and Bite. Amazing Jonathan is my favorite magician/comedian of all time and the first time I saw him in Vegas I actually though I might die because I was laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. Although I guess Steven Wright is probably the better choice since Amazing Jonathan is in Vegas year-round. Bite is an incredibly ridiculous topless vampire musical revue. Yes, it is. Only thing I can really argue against is Zumanity. I was bored.
Your avatar is my view out the window RIGHT NOW! So, yeah. That would be cool. Although we'll only be here for a few days and there's so many options of stuff to do and things to eat, that'll we'll be pretty busy. Amazing Jonathan was a resident at the Sahara when I lived there (before the amazing Bill Dungsroman helped me away from crappy joints), but I didn't go see him. Bite was on at The Stratosphere back then too, but although I like topless and vampires, the combination just seemed silly. Also The Stratosphere.
Yah, that's where I saw both of them the first time. (OK, the only time for Bite -- I didn't like it enough to see it twice. But I've seen Amazing Jonathan two or three times now.)
Hey Hanzii, which show did you end up seeing (if any)? I'll have a few nights to kill there this week, myself, and am thinking about checking out Penn & Teller.
Neither. I ended up going to a nice Italian restaurant on thursday and ended up in Bonds at Cosmopolitan with a bunch of other Danes drinking until 6 in the morning. I wasn't the freshes of freshes friday and it turned out that P&T were off... and I couldn't really get in gear to listen to Wrights drone for a whole show, and once I'd decided to at least do something it was too late. But thursday was worth it.
