Ingmar doesn't like port either, I will drink it if it is presented to me but it never is.

"Expansive"? Exactly how sloshed did I get from 2,5 glasses of port when 4 of those mix-drinks in one hour did nothing for me last week. My body is weird man.

The first alcoholic beverage I ever purchased for myself, from a proper liquor store, was a bottle of Emu tawny port.

Port! Based on recommendations in this thread, I have added tawny port and aqavit to the Alcohopocalyse. Put the bottle of Drambuie down because the budget has long since been exceeded.

Port wine has a pretty broad quality range. I don't mean to go all pinky-out snob but I have had some cheap ports that I found totally unpalatable; whereas some of the pricier stuff was really great. I suspect it ends up being like wine: you can find good cheap port out there, but since port is (comparatively) rarer than wine, it's harder.

Stupor? No. Go for "giggly drunk". So much more fun.

Not really knowing the labels and not wanting to spend too much on this enterprise, I went for a basic Taylor Fladgate. Hope I didn't do wrong.

So today, I learned that if I don't have enough alcohol to get tipsy, I just get really goddamn sleepy.

If I go to a social gathering my new choices are:
1) Don't drink at all and watch others have alllll the funnnn.
2) Drink enough to be unable to TYPE coherent sentences (but still be able to speak them!)
3) Drink just a little bit and pass out on a couch somewhere.

So I'm not really drunk yet, but it's terribly heated today so I've started drinking some beer. One of my favourite brands, in fact.

I tell you, there is no better beer in Chile. Unless you go to a beerfest, but that's not the point.

Soooo it seems like in the minutes I spent trying to make this post coherent I've gotten so much more tipsy. Well, it's not like today I need to be productive, anyway.

I don't recall drinking that much last night, but I abruptly sat up awake this morning and realized it was 8:15am and I was still on the couch in the basement.

My new place is finally civilized.

I haven't gotten drunk in four months, I have my entire wet bar in this cottage, I'm listening to music I love. Booze sure don't solve no problems, but sometimes it's nice to celebrate what little good you have in your life, innit? My favorite band is getting back together next year to tour Europe (WEST COAST WARM-UP DATES PLEASE?!) and an off-shoot is finally releasing its second album in January. So with that in mind: drunk thread and music you're listening to thread, you're both on notice, we're going to get very intimately reacquainted tonight.

Edit: In an attempt at not bogarting two threads, I'll post my listening to shit here until I get too drunk to care.
