    Happy New Year from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I have with me a most excellent Cuban rum, labelled "Ron Mulata" which I hear is a fine imprimatur. I've been watching the amateur ("done for the love of doing it", from the Latin amo) fireworks displays, an impressive effort despite the somewhat damp weather.

    Sadly, this is as incoherent as I get before actually becoming unconscious. I'm a bit of a lightweight.
