I've only tried it with cola (caffeine free diet cola to be exact), but the official website suggests root beer, ginger beer, lemon lime soda, ginger ale, hot cider, Dr pepper, Guinness, Kahlua, pineapple juice, and various flavors of schnapps will all work.

Oh, dude. Kraken and hot cider? BEST IDEA EVER.

The Kraken is certainly a rum revelation for me. After years of not bothering with anything other then Bacardi, I'm having a hard time finishing what I have left of that and suspect most of my future rum purchases will be of The Kraken.

Sailor Jerry and The Kraken are the only rums anyone needs. If you really want a clear alcohol, skip clear rum and go with vodka.

The one chance I had to try Kraken and I didn't take it.

I'm now incredibly curious.

Haven't had Sailor Jerry yet, but I drank both Zaya (bought for my brother for Xmas) and Ron Zacapa lately and they were both really good. Not that I'd use a $50 bottle of rum for mixers, but it's great for sipping.

Yeah, Sailor Jerry is great because it's cheaper than Cap'n per ounce of alcohol and tastes better to boot. Great for mixers where you don't want the rum to overpower things.

The Kraken is when you want to be dominated by the rum.

Fun fact: drinking the Kraken puts hair on your chest.
