I surely hope so! As I already stated, I'm playing it blindly together with you guys so it's a surprise for me too, I'm very curious to understand more. The giant mass of zombie I think is blocking the path to were the laboratory is, so probably it would be the last obastacle to be removed... and maybe it's a part of the curse?

What is it with zombie dogs and being utterly adorable in these games?
I mean just look at that.
If you want people to be scared or creeped out by your zombie dogs, don't make them an adorable fluffy breed! I just want to cuddle it, giant flesh wound and rabid behaviour be damned!

Also this is when I discovered that this game has a very useful screenshot function. If you press "stamp" on the keyboard, the game automatically makes a screen of the game without the borders and puts it in the game folder with the date and time. That's fucking useful, I was using Snipping Tools until now but this is perfect, I can easily screen all the cat-scares that appear for few seconds now.

Apparently here I could move the stool to reach an higher drawer, where I found a cutting knife. And I remember something I could cut... there was a taped box in the next room...



Now I should be able to get into the basement, according to the hint...



I put together the lighter and the oil to have a working lighter, but still I can't get past this abomination!
Let's search the other rooms again, for example the dark room where I used snowball... I examined the hole again and...



Well, n-nevermind I'll search some other place °____°

The thing is that the hint section on the site says only that I need a lighter to reach the basement, but how am I supposed to use it? There's nothing I can light on...

But I think in the end, her power got out of control and destroyed the world.. so she never met her family in the end, she was all alone. A poor girl all alone...

I'm trying to watch Cry's LP and read this one side by side. I watched the part with the dog in Cry's LP first and it made me jump. XD

So no one else ever messed around with dangerous objects as a kid? Granted, mine tended to be more fire-based but then again my parents kept things similar to chainsaws well out of reach.

Uhm, I think that the most dangerous object I took when I was a kid was a kind of "paste" used to make old shoes look shiny (I don't now ho to call it in english) and I don't know why but I ate some of the paste XD My mom wanted to take me to the hospital for that, but luckyly it wasn't toxic. On the other hand I fell a lot and bumped my head and my knees a lot when I was a kind and I still have the scars of them :P

Anyway, while I was falling asleep tonight I had the best of the ideas, I started to think about a fanfic-crossover featuring the girls of this scary indie games, so there would be Ib from Ib, Viola from Witch's House, Madotsuki from Yume Nikki and Aya from this game! Do you know any other similar game with little girl? I even have a few ideas about the story, when I got time I must definitely write it XD Anybody would be interested in reading it anyway?

My mom's always been really worried about us getting hurt, so she made sure we couldn't play with dangerous things. Probably a good thing, even if it made me kinda terrified of using a large knife for the longest time.
Managed to break the ceiling lamp in my room while we were playing catch with a plushie, though. It nudged it and the whole thing just... shattered.

When I finally got old enough to be allowed to use matches, my mom showed me how to use them properly. Then I went out and bought a box of matches all my own, sat down on a sidewalk, and lit them all in sequence. It was glorious!

...which is to say, yeah, I didn't really play with any dangerous stuff as a kid. I had some not very sharp camp knives to slash through the tall grass with, but knew better than to touch my parents' machete, and that's about the most dangerous thing I can think of that was in the area. (The jug of kerosene for lighting fires aside.) Generally there were enough dangerous things in the tall grass or down by the river to worry about without feeling any need to add more risk to my life with household objects.

Now you made me curious about the place you come from if it's so dangerous, is that Australia? XD

Nah, Ecuador. Missionary parents. That wasn't the jungle proper, though, just the edge of the plateau right before the real jungle started, over in the Pastaza region. So there were some issues with venomous snakes getting into the house, and flash floods in the little rivers, and general dangerous stuff like that, but it wasn't like anyone was getting mauled by jaguars in the back yard.

Wow, that must have been kind of fascinating, growing up so near the jungle. My whole childhood seems dull in comparison.

So I read the instruction of the mini-chainsaw again, and apparently I can't use it against zombie (which doesn't make sense, btw), so this game is not becoming like resident evil. But still, I can only use the chainsaw when I'm the basement, and there is no in-game explanation for that, so one less point for this game... I want a motivation for this not like "You can't use the chainsaw in the rest of the house because... REASONS!"

Anyway, let's continue with the game. We leave the attic to go back into the basement, but...

What is it about little girls and horror games? Are there any with little boys? Do people just like the cuteness of the little girl character and feel a greater sense of horror when these things happen around the little girl?

If we're thinking about the same stuff, a black and almost tar looking substance, then that paste is called "shoe polish". I, along with my brothers, liked to go into the yard with a magnifying glass and start fires. If we had enough burnable material we would keep a steady fire and roast marshmallows.

That sounds like fun! (Would that be Viola before the start of the game or after the end of the game...if you know what I mean?) Hmm, I can't think of any other little indie horror girls but I'll comment if I do!

I occasionally tried to cut stuff up with my pocket knife but it wasn't very sharp. (And now that I think about it, it was probably very dangerous for me to walk around cutting at sticks with a dull blade. As they say, a sharp knife is a safe knife.) I did use my parents' machete once as a kid but they were watching me. I got bored with the dull pocketknife (thank goodness) and went to perfect my fire making technique (...thank goodness?).
