To be fair I don't think anyone would've wanted a more realistic rendition of an eyeless girl.

Man, and I just watched Bride of the Reanimator yesterday, too. If you're gonna bring a loved one back to life, you shouldn't frankenstein her body -- just use the one she has! Otherwise it really won't end well!
... Honestly though, what IS he doing? One moment he's testing out mixtures, the next he's collecting body parts? Make up your mind, dear Father~ Waste not, want not, you can use the old subjects to get body parts~

(Note: Father's chainsaw is blue, the one we found was red. Maybe the red one was a gift he planned to give Aya when she got older or something, haha~)

It's weird, really. I wasn't very sympathetic to the protagonist at the beginning, because much as she's a Little Girl, she's not, like, five years old. She knows that her father has been doing horrible things to people in the basement for years and years and years, and her response is pretty much "Oh well, he's my daddy! <3" to all that. Understandable, but not very sympathetic.

But now, when she's actually being confronted with the specifics of all this, and she's reacting with actual horror? Sympathy is definitely returning. It's a really well done (if not very subtle, but that's fine, horror games don't tend towards subtlety) playing out of the whole concept that one can sort of shrug off abstract horrible things a lot more easily if not forced to confront the details. And how even someone who is callously doing so can get some damn empathy back once they're forced to think about it in depth.

I keep hoping that if you complete all these MAKE THE ZOMBIES HAPPY sidequests at the end there will be some epic moment where they all come back to defend you and you will have a zombie army.

Make it so game, make it so...

For that matter, how would she never notice Snowball acting differently? I call bullshit on that one. If you have a bunny and switch to another one, it's going to act differently enough to be noticable, unless he took a whole litter of bunnies with the same likes and dislikes and personality and looks and age and had them all sleep in a pile of Aya's clothes.

I dunno, I get the impression that, for Aya, not noticing anything that might set off red flags, or not thinking about the things that do, was a pretty big part of her coping strategy. I could totally see her noticing something off about 'healed' Snowball, and immediately going, "Nopenopenope. Nothing's wrong. Nothing Is Wrong. My Daddy healed my rabbit and that's all there is to it. C'mon, Snowball, One True Snowball, let's go play!"

Poor Aya. She just wants to save her father. Sure, I think we can all agree that he isn't a very good guy but when has he ever been unkind to Aya? You don't get to choose your parents and you most certainly don't get to choose your parents' faults.
I'm going to have mixed feelings no matter the ending. If Aya successfully saves her father, I'll be upset that he got away with doing horrible things. If Aya does not save her father, I'll feel bad that Aya lost another parent.

Clones...?

Well, I wonder if the father cloned the rabbits, but after seeing the jar with the rabbit that has an injured leg I can be sure that he changed Snowball with an identical rabbit from time to time. And probably Aya realized that when she looked at the jar, at least in an inconscious level...

If ever Aya survives this experience, I think she'll grow up to be a fucked up person.

So basically she's even better than you with medical stuff, some doctor you are. Or you really didn't care for this guy to die, you asshole?



Father asks the girl what's her name. She hesitate for a while, then...





Is this a biblical reference? The women who treated Christ after crucifixion where all called Maria/Mary if I'm right...









So this is how all began...

I was so happy... So happy you saved me. I was alone, but you made me needed. You gave me love. As long as I am needed, I will stay with you. How wuld I live without you... I love you doctor...





I kinda feel sad for Maria too, now... she's not exaclty bad, she just has this twisted love for the man who wanted to do so many horrible things to her...

I'm really wishing for an ending now where Aya and Maria say "fuck you!" to Father and go live happily ever after someplace together as a family.

I think Father's attention span/mental stability is totally shot.
"I'm gonna test serums! No wait I'm gonna build a frankenstein! NO WAIT LET ME MAKE AN ORC!"
"Ooh, new test subject! Here come with me - you can stay with the obviously dying person! I'm gonna go tell my wife and child you're here, I bet they'd love you! :D"
"I love my daughter so much, I'm going to clone her pet bunny a thousand times and kill it every time it gets even a bit hurt somehow and then give her a new one! And I'm gonna get her a chainsaw that matches mine but she can't play with it yet since she might get hurt..."
It's like "ooh shiny", except the shiny things are all horrible.

I also like that he took special care to put her in the cell with the dying dude when there's an empty cell next door. What the hell, Father?

Same wish for the ending.

The Father live together 'happily' with her mother in the mansion while Aya and Maria escapes alone together. With Maria comes into senses that Father is really just took her for his own advantage and really is (as many as you have said it) a complete asshole. Yay!

Woah you're right, I didn't even notice that O_o Looks like he really wanted her to have "company" O_o

Father is a very good host you know. He wants to make sure you're not lonely and possibly give you spoilers to what may happen next to you, before introducing you to the family and then killing you for your legs <3

You know, I think this whole thing about Maria's past was optional, and I have the feel that seeing or not seeing this makes the difference with the ending. To be sure I kept playing saving in another slot, so I can see different outcomes.

Anyway, it appears there's more about Maria's diary:

Ghost zombies?

Yeah the game is not very consistent, some of them walk away (like the guy that was in jail), other just disappear like ghosts, it makes you question how much they are corporeal.

Wait, so... there are zombies as ghosts?

It does make sense, though.
Our little one-eyed boy just gave us the answer.

We know from earlier that it's a curse, Father didn't accidentally create a local zombie apocalypse. The zombies are part of the curse, meaning that yep! They're all ghosts.

As for why some vanish and others don't?
One-eye told us that because of their hatred for Father, they can't be saved.
All the ones that have disappeared are ones we've helped, no? So... The ones who vanish are the ones who, through our actions, are able to let go of their hate and thus be saved.
Until they can let go of their hatred, they will be corporeal and trapped in this building. It's not just Father who's cursed, but everyone in the house including the ghosts~
