Yes, you can. I've done it. If you have a surplus of coins and a burning desire to get a particular item from LFR, you can do that LFR instance as many times as you like and roll on that boss as many times as you like. Also, you can get 14 chances at loot from the same boss. Pool 10 coins, do the boss 10 times, and then turn in the coin weekly and do the boss three more times. Regular loot + 10 pooled coins + 3 coins from this week's weekly = 14.
Heh I may have to try that, I have been trying to get my tier shoulders since the day Terrace came out on LFR, one roll and one coin every week and still nothing. I have 6 coins I might have to do that with now.
Who do I blame for the Crowd Control being stupid this expansion? I've been chain CCed to death many times in Battlegrounds with stuns and fears sometimes lasting up to six seconds, with the diminishing returns not being global. Stun + Fear + Stun + Fear = Death If I managed to trinket out of a CC I get CCed again.
Yeah pretty much fuck pvp off until the next patch Eric. I loved it in Cata and as a Feral I was only really ever afraid of Mages . Now.. now I'm waiting until the next patch.
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/8397168/PvP_Gear_in_52_and_Beyond-1_17_2013 Read that before one considers pvp, I don't know if its good.. bad ..ugly .. or insane. I am going to wait and see.
I've just spent the last three hours trying to solo the chess event of Karazhan. Argh, so annoying, it comes down to random chance.
After 9 months away, I just ordered Pandaria and a 60 day card- thank you Christmas shipping at Best Buy lots of free gift cards. /iamweak I am looking forward to making a farm though...and more fishing achievements.
The Tillers stuff is the part of the game that really grabbed me the most. A surprising amount of fun.
The pet battles are a lot of fun too. I finally figured out the mechanics to soloing Viscidus in AQ40 as a priest (I needed an old trinket from Zul Aman, three angry gnome helpers did the trick) and the special battle pet dropped. I’ve been enjoying gathering those and slowly levelling them at my own pace.
Ah right- pokemon too- I am actually looking forward to tons of new content now...My laptop is sitting next to me at work running through the update process to get ready for my install.
So damn annoyed right now, just got to the next step in the legendary quest line (collected 6000 valor and killed some mob with 120mil hps) and now its saying I have to do pvp to continue on. Utter BS, if i wanted to PVP I would have rolled on a pvp server.
It's not too bad. The quest only asks you to win the new BGs. It took me maybe 5 total BGs before I had my two wins.
Meh asking me to pvp for a pve quest chain is just not right. It may be easy to do, but I refuse to touch anything pvp related.
Mmm. I'd love to be able to raid without having to level or grind rep factions; if I could do that, I'd probably still be subscribed. Too bad Blizzard doesn't allow me to do so.
Sure you can. It takes longer to gear up, but you can get gear good enough for the first raid from the 5 man heroics and LFR. My guild was several weeks into raiding before I had any of the faction valor gear unlocked.
But I'd still have to level. I can't just hop in and be all boom, max level character with a set of blues.
Why would that be trolling? I hate the level grind. I hate it even more now that I've played Guild Wars 2. Raiding is pretty much the only thing in WoW that I consistently enjoyed.
In terms of the story and what it's asking you to do, I wasn't surprised that there was some PVP involved. I mean, the dude wants you to prove your worth as a member of the Horde/Alliance. Add to it that it's only a PVE quest chain because you're calling it that. Those weapons and enhancements (sha gems, extra sockets) work just as well in PVP as PVE. Are you going to skip this quest (and the rest of the legendary chain, which includes a helm meta in 5.2 and turning the weapons into legendaries in 5.3 [supposedly]) because you can't be bothered to spend an hour or two total PVPing?
I refuse to deal with the 12 year old attitude that is pvp these days, where if you lose you insult your entire team, tell them they all suck and need to LtP and other such crap. I also have no pvp gear at all, and am not going to spend 1000s of gold to get the few items I can get off the ah.
Speaking from my experience grinding out Fangs of the Father, if you don't enjoy the content, the orange text at the end isn't going to make anything better.
It is dumb to tie a PvE reward to anything PvP related. However, also think of this quest line from the perspective of PvP folks who want the PvP versions of these legendary items. It's even worse for them. I know you don't need the gems you get from this quest line, but mixing PvP and PvE when there are so many people who absolutely hate one of the two is pretty irritating.
Ignore what people say! Seriously, who cares what the 12 year old says? And I'm going to go out on a limb and say that since you're about to finish the 5.2 Wrathion chain (once you do the pvp stuff), you've probably very well geared from a PVE standpoint. You'll be able to hold your own just fine without buying anything.
I guess I just think that blizz should have done separate quest lines, let people who pvp do it totally through pvp and pve people do it totally through pve. Mixing the two is a stupid thing to do when you have so many people on both sides who can't stand the other. I know I will be missing out on getting more powerful stuff, but that doesnt outweight how much I cant stand pvp and what it has done to WoW as a whole.
You can't do that , it requires one of the 2 new bgs. This is a children's week situation. The normal pvp folks know those going in there are free targets. Right now if you have full tier raid gear and no (forgot what the pvp stat things are) you are wiped on the floor. Their solution to this is to make 4 tier pvp gear that is easily purchased (so they say), but it isn't solving the problem -right now-. So Brett would be a target, and I can sympathize. This is one of those times where you are deliberately made content for the other players because they want more people playing those BGs. PVP queue times are horrid lately and likely to get worse. I will bet that after this legendary part is no longer "relevant" it will either be changed to any bg or something to that effect. Does that quest chain have cheesements related to it?
Total agreement here. For anyone that wants to see first-hand how pve and pvp don't mix, try doing this achievement here.
The only reason I was able to get that achievement was by doing it with an organized guild group (none of us liked PvP). We coordinated over Vent to take turns going for an objective, and everyone who wasn't "up" would guard the person who was capping the flag or assaulting the control point or whatever. I can't imagine how brutal it would have been if I'd had to do it without help.
I always thought PvP during Children's Week was quite funny: naked co-operation between factions, the huge rush for the closest appropriate point, actual PvPers praying on the unprepared, people 'accidentally' capping the flag rather than dropping it, people forgetting to get their orphan out, etc.
I'm leveling as a healer for the first time and every goddamn Death Knight I end up group with "tanks" in dps spec. Is there some reason a leveling DK would want to spec into both Frost and Unholy, or are these guys just assholes?
Assholes probably. I have been a DK since they were introduced- I still feel like the unloved stepchild probably because there are STILL people like that playing. /sigh
They're not necessarily assholes. When playing as a DPS death knight, it's *super* easy to pull aggro because you do so much damage. What's more, it's easy not to notice because you wear plate. This is doubly true if your healer is really good & takes care of you before you even notice the damage. And if the person doesn't quite know what they're doing, speccing a little into frost seems to make a lot of sense. "Just a few points in frost helps me to stay alive, just in case something goes wrong." Hell, I knew exactly what I was doing and yet I still pulled aggro fairly frequently while leveling in dungeons. Even though I apologized frequently & profusely, I prolly came off looking like a glory hound. Edit - Whoops. I misread your post. Ah.... a dps death knight queued as a tank? Yeah... an asshole. When I ran into those chucklefucks when leveling a healer, I usually just switched to my dps spec and told him that if he was going to play as dps, so would I. They usually ragequit after a wipe.
Erm, you can't spec into frost and unholy anymore. There aren't trees, you just pick one. Do you mean frost and unholy stances? I'd chalk it up to the fact that most anything that wears plate, or can turn into a bear, or has a shield can "tank" leveling instances. They're a lot more forgiving, and people lean on the healers just because, at that level, you can heal through the stupid.
I mean they're in Frost or Unholy spec and they're tanking (usually with Blood stance). So either they don't have Blood as their second spec or they can't be bothered to switch to it (I politely remind them that they're in the wrong spec when I see them. So far not one of them has either replied or switched specs). My assumption is that they're assholes and/or morons, but I suppose it's not impossible there's some reason you'd want to have both dps specs.
In TBC instances you can viably tank in DPS spec and stance. Stopped doing that when I went to Wrath instances, though.
Assholes, who are just lazy and want a quick queue time, and can't be assed to have a blood spec. It's not a total non-starter like it would be at level, since they would tend to go splat if they tanked in non-blood spec for very long, but it is annoying.
