I can appreciate that my first instinct was to look on Youtube for a grand compilation of all the times the word "toon" is used in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit".

If I can remove the word "hipsters", does the entire demographic go along with it? Because that's what I'll choose.

    "Turgid."

This is not a sexy word, and people need to stop using it like it is.

You should have been there when Elyscape and I were trying to explain Shira Oka to a third party over breakfast at Chipotle. I still can't tell if that look was disbelief or disdain.

Was this word used by the Mycon? If it wasn't, it should have been. Juffo-Wup and turgid go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Oh god no please don't. I'll accept cilia or tentacles even before turgid. Okay that's even worse. *reaching for the brain bleach*

I'm suddenly picturing everyone talking like the Khajiit from the Elder Scrolls. I don't mind that kind of speech pattern coming from fantasy cat people... but I feel that would become very annoying very quickly IRL.

Yep! The exact line is "Juffo-Wup fills in my fibers and I grow turgid. Violent action ensues." Also, if you aren't already doing so, you should go read sinnick's Star Control 2 LP.

  24. HeavenlyInsanity Oh, Come On

In my mind it will forever mean "like a turd". Which is another word that could do with removal.

Also, I am unable to see the word "ocelot" without thinking of these guys:

Whoever came up with the word "penis" came up with a phrase that is, unfortunately, way too accurate sounding. I'd eject all of our words for genitalia, including slang. "Cock" can stay. I like cock.

Edit: I "like" cock. Wait, shit that's not right either. Oh well.

Boring and mundane, but I would like to remove the word "occasionally", because I don't seem to be able to type it without using spelling correction software. I would like to replace "occasionally" with the word "spilkly", which I can spell without help and is presently not being used for anything.

    'Crisps'.

'sps' is an awkward collection of letters to say, and I end up over-enunciating until it basically has two syllables.
This is... one language advantage that I'm willing to concede to American English.

I would like for the word "valid" to die one thousand painful deaths. This would force people to stop using it as a vapid linguistic gesture and force them instead to use meaningful and specific synonyms such as: relevant, topical, applicable, well-reasoned, well-formed, accurate, correct, conforming, sensible, reasonable, provable, demonstrated, logically follows. There wouldn't be so many synonyms if people stopped using "valid" to mean damn near anything and it might remove much confusion in otherwise reasonable discourse.

I now have a mental image of Kenshin going to Hot Topic and I can't breathe now, thanks.

And I am sad someone suggested removing the word "like". How else am I supposed to describe my feelings towards someone since "love" is generally too strong a word? "I love you platonically!" is just so long-winded.

But anyway, if I had to remove a word from the English language, it would be irregardless. BECAUSE THAT IS NOT A FUCKING WORD, NO MATTER WHAT AUTOCORRECT TELLS ME. IT CAN GO DIE IN A FIRE.
